My first interest has always been guns, and being an old farm boy, my second interest is antique farm equipment, especially International Harvester. I know we have several tractor owners here and I would enjoy seeing pics of your machines. Here's mine a IH 300 Utility.

That was a straight old 1020,Not much for that color of green but I'de a sure been able to appreciate that one.Deisel as well? The 4050 would have been a cool addition as well.We put a 4440 motor in a 4020 gasser with power shift.Made a tractor out of that one.I think I'm gonna have a T-shirt made of that geezer on that Ford with his grandson and have something dispairaging printed on the back and walk around the Tulsa show next year[:D]
Yeah, it was deisel. Best crankin' tractor we had (exept for the new 7210) even in cold weather, not that it gets all that cold down here in LA.[:D] We've always been sticklers for maintaining our equipment and not abusing them, all our equipment is barn kept.. That one had original paint (washed several times a year, waxed once a year), around 3000hrs and those rear tires are original or were put on right after it was bought in '74, father couldn't remember. We built the sort of cheesy looking rollover/top and added the pull behind bumper. We miss it every once in a while when there is a real small job to do and one of the bigger tractors are hooked up, we wish we could go jump on the 1020.

sothere, i have run a lot of red tractors also started out raking hay on an A international in third grade mowed hay with an allis wd 45 narrow front a real bi$%ch mowing native hay with all the badger holes and no live power unless you remembered to use hand clutch ect[:D] plowed countless acres with an 806, 1206 1256 they was all good tractors....but if you cut me i would bleed green[8D][:D]

Funny thing. Just today I was thinking I need to get some tractor pictures. At the least, pictures of the junk in the sheds. Junk, I call it agriporn.
4020 is looking pretty rough. We broke the wishbone in the front axle twice. The second time we went with a 4840 front axle. That thing ain't going to give out!
Last spring Dad had to buy back the old 4020 he sold around '78 when he bought a 4320. It was the lesser of the two when he sold it. Now it looks to be mint compared to the one he kept with the loader.
The main old tractors are Massey 44's.0 -

The first time he broke it, was probably around '87 or '89. He was digging our the cement and dirt from the old crib as we were converting it into a shed. The hole was getting pretty deep.
Anyway, probably spent 4 hours on the phone looking for a new/used wishbone. Everyone he talked to ended the conversation with the same question.
How did you do it?
He really got tired of answering that question.0 -
If you ran the front axles in most all the way, they seemed to do alright, but if you ran them out and used the tractor with a front end loader.....well, we're not the only ones.[:D]

Sarge, you're the real thing with that tractor still able to pull it's weight around a farm.
Scott, you are looking fit and ready to feed the nation. I've gotta make it over again within the next few seasons, for some more of that excellent Kansas hospitality. How's the missus?

That may be but just because she looks nice does not mean that old girl does not work to earn her keep.

Dad had a 300 when I was a kid,but it was the row crop version.That was my favorite tractor because of the TA.I thought it was great.[^]
One of these days,I've got to get my '48 Farmall Cub goin' again.Used to run it pretty regular just to keep it loose,but one day it quit gettin' fire and I've never took the time to find the problem.
Just bein' used for lawn art at the moment.[:(]
My old '73 Kabota 355SS is still goin' strong though.[^]
Hung a 250 lb. hog from the front bucket the other night to get it under some light so I could clean it.[:D][:D]

thought i had a pic of a JD model D in mid restoration in same shop i overhauled the 4850 and rebuilt my semi in....must be on other lap top and never got uploaded to photo web site...it was a first or second year model D 1926 or 27 i think....i worked on this also a bit the shop i worked on my semi and overhauled the 4850 was neighbors shop who have restored several old Johnny poppers
we used to have a 730 diesel two cylinder wished we still had that. my uncle has a 830 diesel two cylinder.....now them things are a hunk of iron!0 -
