What is your thermostat set at?
With the ever increasing cost of fuel oil and the ever decreasing rate of my income, my thermostat is set at 55 and may go down to 50 if need be.
What do you set your thermostat at? Have you put it lower this year due to rising oil costs?

72 degree. Electric heat pump. Our average monthly total electric bill is $112 and that includes a $8 charge a month for a security light. 0 -
78F, I still have my AC running. When it finally cools down I'll turn on the heater and set it at 72F.

We are bouncing back and forth between A/C and heat. That is just part of living in Texas in the fall. When we do use heat, we use natural gas and set the thermostat on 76. 0 -
68 at night, I have a programable, but the wife overides whenever she si chilled.

68. If you're cold, put on a sweatshirt. My Dad would turn over in his grave if he knew I had it over 65. 0 -
Wouldn't matter its currently 32 degrees and I haven't turned on the heat.... BTW does anyone know of a therostat that you can set below 50 degrees....I absolutely get far better sleep in this cool temp and feel 100% all day long!!! 0 -
my wife is the family thermostat and the temperature is never the same regardless of the weather. [:D] 0 -
Mine is at 70.
It seldom runs durring the day as this mobil home collect the suns heat very well in the winter. Down fall to that is it also collects the suns heat in the summer and makes my cooling bill go way up!
I am all electric and in the winter my bill is down around $150 but in the summer it goes up to about $300.0 -

we turned off our AC/Heat off here in florida, it dips into the 50's at night, and gets a high about 75 degrees, and thats perfect, windows open full time now! Love this weather. If it would stay 72 year round, i would be a happy man. 0 -
55 at night, 70 @ wake-up, 65 during the day, 70 for evening.
Computer controlled - even takes into consideration of different times of wake-up for weekends.0 -

Heat on 68, or below, and A/C on 74.
Past few days we have been in the high thirties, to low forties, at night, and upper sixties, to low seventies during the day.
Warming trend starting today though.
To anyone wanting a t-stat that will go below 50 for heat they are available, but are well over 100 bucks, and that is my wholesale price.
Like a small touchscreen monitor on the wall, and can be configured for any system known to man.
About a 40 step setup program to get it running.0 -

We only use the heater for a month or two - only turn it on in the morning
for an hour when we wake up - 70?.0 -
I heat with an oil fired steam boiler and run the thermostat at 65 downstairs and shut off all the radiators upstairs unless it gets below 20 degrees or so. I have a 24 volt steam rated 2.5inch zone valve to isolate the upstairs loop on another thermostat, but have been too lazy to install it. I tried heat pumps, but they dried the air out so bad I couldn't talk, spit or breathe through my nose when I woke up in the mornings. Plus, my house is all wood inside and the steam helps keep it from drying out and cracking along the grain. 0 -
72 degs until the day after each oil delivery then 62 deg. 0 -
75 dgrees.....wood pellet stove heats a two-story house. M-M-M-M toasty!

68 all the time 0 -
I have only one area with a thermostat, for a gas heating stove that pretty much takes care of the house most of the time. When it's really cold, I burn wood in a fireplace insert that heats the rest of the house. The thermostat is usually set at 62 during the day, 55 at night. We like to keep the house on the cool side. 0 -
75 all year 'round.
Warm water always at 1750 -
A hair over sixty during the day, off at night. I spend a lot of time outside in all temperatures. Sixty feels toasty coming in from temps half that. 0 -
Brrr...
