Ever have a gun left on your porch?
A firearm on the way to me is inadvertently being shipped to the store owner's house rather than the store.
I have a bad feeling it will be left on his porch, unattended.

I have had about five FFLs with two different addresses on the license.....and only ONE had asked that I send the package to the mailing address and NOT the premises address. Its a good thing they included the updated ATF regulations that noted that you could use either address noted on the FFL.....because I wouldn't have shipped it to anything but the premises address because that is what I thought I had to do until I had read that newsletter. 0 -

The "mailing address" is different from the "premises address" - I cannot recall ever having seen this on any FFL that I have shipped to.
again i said ups would only ship to that address could have been that was the only clear address on the ffl. maybe the ups had there head up there asses i don't know. they told me its there policy. to only ship to that address. the copy of the ffl you send was so fussy that it was hard to read so they probably thought that was the premises address. it was my first and last time shipping a pistol with out using a ffl. it just the last pistol i shipped the ffl took three weeks to ship out so i figured this would be faster. anyway i hope everything turns out. it was stated on the invoice that it was a firearm and it was insured. so let me know if it doesn't show up.0 -
I live in a rural area and have developed a "first names" relationship with our UPS driver, Kurt. We can tell when Kurt's on vacation. Boxes found in long parked vehicles, out in rain, etc. If you have a regular driver, wouldn't hurt to learn his name, bake him some brownies, things like that. If you were a paper boy when you were a kid, you probably took better care of customers who were nice to you than the ones who didn't give a rat's azz. Same principle. 0 -

...Same here. He (UPS) knows that everything, guns, ammo, etc. goes inside the door. If I wasn't around, and he was concerned, he'd bring it to my work place or down to my mom's. The security camera and warning sticker on my door give us a sense of security. On the other hand, FedFux is using rented trucks, with a big "Rent-All" on the side and a FedEx sign duct-taped to the door, and a different driver every time. Guess who gets a Christmas tip.0 -

Henry0Reilly, my mailing address and premise addresses are different. All my mail is delivered to a post office box. If someone mails something using my street address the post office will remark it with my PO box number and thats where it goes. 0 -
I had an FFL at my home address from 1986-95 and UPS left guns on porch all the time. It didn't do any good to ask them to not do it. I am surprised that none were ever picked up by thieves. 0 -
UPS is great here. Our UPS driver "Jesse" puts EVERY package inside for us. He always makes us sign for sig required packages. We have a gate on our driveway and he has his own code to get in with.
On the other hand, Fedex sucks here. Different driver EVERY time. Never here when supposed to. Think I am going to give a gate code out to every different fedex driver I see? NOT!!!!!0 -
Yes, one time when I lived in Kalifornia, left by the big brown truck, When I got home from work I was surprised to see it their. 0 -
I came home one day to a rather large stack of AK's sitting on the neighbors front porch, sidewalk, and spilling out on to the driveway. He had ordered about 25 of them back before the ban in the mid 90's.
The boxes clearly stated on them that they were MAK-90 rifles.
No signature or anything, just drop and go.0 -
I called the pawn shop owner and let him know that a handgun will be delivered to his home tomorrow. He was considerably less than pleased to learn that his phone number is available via online white pages.
He hung up on me without commenting on the gun at all.0
