My Apology To Jacob2008
Sorry for my snippy remark. Sometimes I forget that you are a kid. You present yourself well, and seem to be very mature for your age, so it is easy to forget that you are only 14, and reply in an insensitive manner.
You wrote: "See Nunn, I dont have the least bit of problem with cops. Rookies, I hate. Senior cops, no problem.
I wrote: "Now, that is about a silly statement. No offense intended.
Where do you think we get senior cops? There ain't a factory making them. They have to start out as rookies."
I should not have said it was a silly statement. It wasn't silly. It was the statement of a kid, which you are, and so it is appropriate. When one is your age, one has a strong sense of what is fair and unfair, and one has a strong belief in how things ought to be. It is only later we discover that the world is terribly unfair, and only rarely are things the way they ought to be.
Honestly, I would rather work with an entire shift of seasoned officers, but that isn't the world we live in. There have to be a few rookies around to take the place of the senior officers who have moved on.
The "senior cops" you have "no problem" with all had to start out as the rookies you say you hate. Every one of them.
Anyhow, I think I was rough on you, and I apologize.

hey nunn, how come you are sending private emails to underage kids ? that just doesnt seem right. you know, a report to your office about internet chats and emails to underage kids could land a cop in hot water and on the news.
Look in the mirror Mayo and see what type of person does'nt respect Nunn. You my friend have some serious social issues.0 -
You mean cops are made and not born?[:0]
Is anyone close enough to shoot the mayo troll?0 -

LF- I think none of us should say anything on this forum that we wouldn't say in any company. Posts are supposed to be less than PG14, remember? What nunn was talking about was the demeanor of his response, and I say that if a 14 year old wants to join into discussions on an adult forum then he should be treated like all other members.
Jacob made some disparaging remarks about cops and a cop responded.
End of story.
I see no need for apologies save maybe from Jacob for making a sweeping condemnation of police officers. At 14 how much experience does he have with law enforcement to make such pronouncements regarding the personalities of cops, anyway?
I get a few 18 year old freshmen students who think they know everything. They don't... and they very quickly learn that.0 -

You send me naked pictures of yourself all the time, and I am only 13. So leave this Mr. Nunn alone.0 -
Biggest bunch of suckups I ever saw. 0 -
I wasn't saying anything about Nunn...he is AWESOME and handles everything a lot better than I ever could. The person I was speaking of was a "less smart" person that started out just being a little annoying...but when they found a little about Jacob they tuned plain out rude.
Sometimes you can tell how old someone is right off the bat....(like the post yesturday that said something about being held up at a 7-11)...obvious young person.
But when they can hold an adult conversation its hard to know how old someone is when you are dealing with them on line. Most of us here know a little about each other and it makes it easy to understand what they are trying to say. Nunn has always been great when dealing with all of the mess that comes up! What Jacob said about rookies I had just "blown off" because of his age and not being out in the world dealing with things yet.
The person I am upset with is not Nunn at all...and Jacob is great. I really hated to see so upset he was thinking of leaving.0 -
"Suck up?"
... just because I like to drop in at Starbucks every once in a while?
... Jeeeze!

Oh, matter of fact, it's about this long ...0 -
if i was free to say things like that to a cop or anyone else for that matter at 14, my father would have kicked my butt so hard i wouldnt be able to sit.
i may have had opinions at 14, but i was told to keep them to myself and i listened to my parents to this day.
funny. i NEVER had a run in with cops on the wrong side of the law.
every time i was with a cop i was in need. and, i always liked being around cops because i got to see A GUN.
first time a cop touched me was when i took a glancing blow from a hatchet in my leg. dad handed me to him and the cop put me in his squad car. he took me to the hospital. i was 14.
dad picked me up later on. on the trip, i got to hear the squak box, saw the shotgun on the dash, and got to go faster than ive ever been in my life. i totally forgot i was bleeding to death.
rookie? old? i didnt care. his professional appearence was all i needed to make me feel important. here was a guy using law to help me.
ive NEVER changed my outlook on them to this day. as it turned out, i was called to serve my country instead of the force. got to see guns. did a lot of things people dont see every day. but whenever i see a fellow drive by, i respect him.
i had a buddy rookie down in fla. get messed up during a forced entry. the perp broke his back with less than a year on force. he got the guy, but it cost him dearly. i know a lot of rookies doing remarkable things.
maybe this young fellow just needs to see more of the good side of life.
thank God young men have the GUTS TO SIGN ON to protect us. and even more, thank GOD there are some who do it for life.0 -
It does take courage and class to admit a mistake and apologize!
Plus it usually makes you feel good about yourself![:)]0 -

You tell him, Jacob. Don't back down from Dr Pig. Just because he talks to vice Presidents and Presidents, doesn't give him special privileges. [}:)]0 -
Jacob, there is no freedom of speech on this forum. The forum is a privately owned entity subject to the whims of the owner. He makes all the rules. You do not have the right to act and say as you please here despite how much in taxes your parents pay because none of that money goes to the owner.
Participating in the forum is a privilege, not a right. We are all guests here and may be asked to leave at any time for any reason.0 -

School's out for summer
School's out forever
School's been blown to pieces
No more pencils
No more books
No more teacher's dirty looks
Well we got no class
And we got no principles
And we got no innocence
We can't even think of a word that rhymes
School's out for summer
School's out forever
School's been blown to pieces0 -
Just a question what are some opinions on how many years before one is a "senior" officer? 0 -

Ah, I've ALWAYS loved the ladies ... all kinds, anywhere,
everywhere I could!
I think it has something to do with where I was born -
in 'The City of Brotherly Love' (Philadelphia, NOT San
Franwacko!) and at 'The (All) Women's Medical Hospital '
- staffed with 100% real ladies!
... it was a different world, then, too, but I think it had a
great effect on me ... and the wimmins![8D]
... today, it's so impersonal ... "I'll have my people talk
to your people and if we can come to an agreement, we'll
put you under contract!" ... where's all the LOVE gone?

thats what i was afraid of. excessive contact between adults and minors is often a sign that something inapporpriate might be going on. jacob, dont be afraid to notify local law enforcement, a teacher or your parents if you feel akward about this. you have to let predators know they arent welcome in your life.0 -

Private? See how private it is, with how many responses and how many readings?
FYI, Jacob and I have corresponded privately, and those emails are between us.

I seriously hope this was in jest. If not, then YOU have a problem. I have had "contact with minors" pretty regularly for well over 20 years, starting with my own kids. I still have contact with them, but they are no longer minors. Now, "my kids" are my nieces and my godson.0 -
Nunn...you want three more....just for the summer. The older one is a firecracker, the middle one is a sweetie pie (to the grown ups but a tee-holy terror to the other two) and the third one is in a world of his own. 0 -
