    I have the chance to get a Stevens double barrel model 311 in 410. I'll have to trade him my Ruger M77 7mm magnum. I hardly ever shoot the Ruger, so I probably won't miss it. After all is said and done price wise, the whole deal will be about equal.
    Just wondering what you guys might do. Thanks.

    In short, most know my beloved dog passed away suddenly. While I was looking at some Urns for his ashes.

    I discovered some places will stuff your pet, IE taxidermy. Isn't that a little over the edge?

    Would you do it? I don't think I could handle that.

    Cut down around 5 White Oak, some not too big, two very large. A couple nedium sized white pines, fairly close to the back deck. (Talking a couple feet off.)

    Some overhanging the house.

    In order to get the firewood? (Several years worth.)

    Or, let a local logging Co. Come get them for the logs, nothing for me?


    I'm pretty proficient with dropping trees. Been doing it since my teens.

    If I drop one on the house, I'm covered with my Comprehensive Homeowners policy right?

    I have been thinking of reenlisting back into the military. I was in the navy and went into the army and ive been out for 2 years. I am thinking of doing it because all the jobs ive found are worthless and IL didnt want to accept my Emt-b cert from the military so i now work for united airlines. my fiance said she wont go with me but i figured one less thing to worry about if i did if she came along, also im thinking if waiting to see who is going to be out next president. there are certain people i dont not want as my CIC. Would you do it if you could?

    No, I'm not sure about family pets but it certainly did not work out as well as we hoped in my Grandma's case.

    Every time I saw my stuffed dog, I would be sad. It would be hard to get closure seeing it every day.[:(]

    I once had a squirrel in the freezer I never got around to taxidermn, but I did chase my dad secretary round the office with it. Was quite the entertaining moment.

    Just an update for Dan and you guys too: Your stuffed Grandma is working out great at my house. Boy, I'm glad I stopped at your garagsale that day. I only wish I had bought the cabinet you made to store her in. We just have her leaning in the corner.

    Now thats a can of worms![:D] in short, the wife can't have any, we are in our mid/late 40s. Adoption would be ok! but we wish not to raise a kid by todays rules.

    So were sticking to four legs, feathers, and fins.[:I]

    We couldn't possibly part with the cabinet, it's a family heirloom and has sentimental value.

    back yard works well, illegal someplaces, but i never heard of anyone getting into trouble for it

    My FIL jokes around that he'll have his lab stuffed when he passes. At least my wife and I **think** he's joking.

    We lost our previous dog last year. We had him cremated and we spent more to have it be a private cremation rather than a group cremation. Having his ashes (and not a bunch of other pets') was important to me. We put his ashes in a decorative box, along with is collar and tags and one of his favorite toys and it is on our mantle. You'd never know it as a visitor to our house.

    And, while I have taxedermized critters in my house, I don't think that I could have a taxedermized pet. That strikes me as wrong.

    A good friend of mine is a taxidermist. He said that he would never stuff a pet because the owners would never be happy with the outcome. No matter how good you are you'd never capture the pet the way they remember it.

    We have a friend, an older lady who lost her husband some time ago, who had her beloved terrier stuffed. It was a dog her and her husband loved for many years.

    She loves it, and has never regretted having it done.

    i just wouldn't like to see the pets weather & thread bare like an old teddy...let them rest in peace , with the fantastic memories we get..[^]they deserve the best, that their loyalty provided!
