safe combination lock...

I have a relatively new gun save - nothing special. But, I figure it will slow any would-be thiefs down a little while my security system alerts the neighbors.

It is a Liberty "Centurion". The lock is a manual combination lock. I've never had any trouble opening it - sometimes I fail on the first or second attempt, but then I get it right.

Today, I dialed the combo about 25-30 times with no luck. I have the combination stored (in a secure file) on my PC so I'm not forgetting the correct combination.

Other than being a complete moron does anyone have any suggestions?

Is it best to go just past a number before reversion or should I stop exactly on the number?

    Glad it worked out for you.

    Many years ago while in the military had a position for a few years supervising professional safe crackers. Everything from the mess hall NCOIC locking up the mess funds and forgetting the combination to way more important stuff in way bigger safes.

    I can get you in but the safe won't be of any use as a gun safe after I'm done. Would be real sure you were the owner of said safe and that the local cops were aware of what was going on. Have heard of someone scamming someone else to get into still another person's safe. Try explaining to the cops why you were cracking someone's safe and he doesn't know anything about it.

    if your talking about a spin dial, its bad news, it keeps the door from locking. At least on my liberty safe if thats what your talking about.


    The one I was referring to is the one that after you shut the door and turn the bolts, it will lock the combo dial so you don't have to enter the combo to enter.
