Live in a home for a full year, paid the rent every month a week before it was due. Painted the garage, relandscaped most of the back yard, fixed and painted the fence. (All Work done with permission and with partial finicial support) Just the Misses and myself lived there, no kids, dogs etc. We even found a new person to move in when we left.

Final walk though with the Landlord as we were moving out, all was great, we cleaned carpets etc. There was a small stain 1 X 1 inch under the natural place to put a couch or chair. The carpet was over 30 years old but in nice shape. Landlord said he thought it was there before we moved in so don't worry about it. He told us his wife would mail a check.

A week later we received a check for 64.00 out of our 400.00 deposit.
I call the landlord and he said his wife made the decision. I asked to talk to her. She reported the house was a mess and we ruined the carpet with the "massive stain" we had caused. She had decided to walk through the house while our friend was in the process of moving in with her kids and three dogs....

I did some checking on the landlady and found out this was her normal way of screwing everyone that lived in their properties.

Called the landlord back and raised holy heck with him. Three days later he showed up at my office and paid me 336.00 in cash. He said he did not want his wife to find out about it...and he was sorry for the whole situation.

Three years later when our friend moved out landlady tried to do the same thing....

On the flip side, my family owns an older farm house on thirteen acres in Iowa. We have rented it out for the past twenty years since my Grandparents had to leave the farm for the nursing home.

The first renter was a friend of the family and he signed a one year lease. He did some work on the place and we paid him for his time.
He asked if he could put a wood burning stove in place and we told him no.

About a month or so later my dad was in the area and stopped by. The
renter had installed the woodburner and it caused a fire that had burnt the back porch area off the place.

The renter had tarped the place up and was still living there. He told us he was going to get it fixed and would pay for it. He took a powder the next day we never did catch up with him. Luckily it was insured so we got it fixed.

Pull crap like that in Texas and your tenant will own the house and get a monthly check from you to boot. That is a security issue.

Did I ever tell you about the landlord I put in jail for refusing to get off his own property? It was a hoot! I love to do stuff after some yahoo tells me I can't.

Landlords regulator starts leaking on a 500 gallon propane tank. Tenet is without propane for heat and cooking.

Landlord paid for all repairs and put tenent and family in hotel and fed tenet and family free meals at landlords resaurant until propane was fixed.

Landlord turns on water to property without telling anyone. Tenent moves in and 5 months later the city finds out unit is rented and no water deposit or water payments made.

Landlord pays all fines, deposits and water usage of the tenent for last 5 months. Landlord did this on his own without court or police involvement.

We had a landlord many years ago when we rented , he was a strange character and did some real strange things. First of the month comes , we pay. Something breaks , he fixes. Something breaks and he is not around , we fix he pays. Some of the stangest actions from a landlord I have ever seen.

I have three rentals in San Diego. I get a letter from the water company saying they are going to attach a lien on property because of being behind on water bill. I call and "the person that handles that in on vacation" is all I get from them. I ask for the supervisor and she says that it was my tenets but at the last house they had rented, and it was not a lien able case. I asked for and got a letter of apology from the water company.

Tenant (me) for 10 years. Landlord decides to sell house, wants me to sign off on 20 day agreement to vacate. I refuse...ask for 60 days. 2nd tenant does sign. I find a great apartment for them, they move. A few weeks before closing Landlord changes mind about selling, tells me to play along, act like I'm never going to move (the buyer wanted to live in my apt) Buyer wants to sue landlord for breach of contract, landlord blames me for not moving, blames me for losing 2nd tenant. Landlord secretly has deal going with 2nd buyer for more money. Again asks me to sign off on quicker than normal departure.

Landlord pays me a tidy sum for relocation expenses when I play the tape recording of him telling me to play along with his scam. [:D]

Tenant didn't pay electric bill. Power company turned off power. Tenant climbed pole and hooked up electricity with jumper cables. Got busted, went to court. Some kind of law, since he had kids, he got free power for YEARS.

Different tenant. Was staying there in exchange for working on the place. Told me the heater quit working. I told him to fix it. They moved out instead. I put a couple of drops of oil on the motor, and it worked fine until I sold the house, from what I heard it`s still working.

thanks pickenup, Tenant tells electric co. he owns the house. He is renting... doesn't pay electic bill, and they cut off power. Then he exchanges the meter head with a stolen one. Electric oompany takes service pole out of ground and removes it from premise. I call electic co. and ask what happens? They replace with brand new for free.. tenant gets arrested for theft and goes to jail.

Another good one. Tenant is evicted for non payment. I get possession of home. Nothing is in home , I re rent it the next day. I get a letter from tenants attorney I stole all their property. We go to court, and I have an attorney. I get questioned and tell the whole story.. tenant has their goods in storage and storage place owner is in court and testifies and shows storage agreement. Tenants made up whole story...Judge throws out the case and tells tenants never to come to into this county again.

    Very interesting and informative.[:D]

    I'm a full grown man
    That's plain to see
But nowhere near as full grown
    As I'd like to be
    But I'll find a bar
    And I'll have a few
Until I'm ten feet tall and bulletproof
Now, I'd hit the dance floor
Each time I'd have the chance
That is if these two left feet
    Knew how to dance
    'Bout the only time
    I'm kicking up my shoes
Is when I'm ten feet tall and bulletproof

Well, I start to feel like Superman
    Then I pick a fight
Only to find that my opponent's
    Holding kryptonite
You'd think I'd learn my lesson
    But, I'm still paying dues
Each time I drink and start to think
I'm ten feet tall and bulletproof

    My woman left me
    She called me a clown
    Well that's the general consensus
    In this town
    But I had it coming
    Lord to tell the truth
For acting ten feet tall and bulletproof

    Repeat

    Here I am again.
I weigh a ton and when I walk the earth shakes.
Give me room and I'll whip an army.
I'm a blizzard from Bitter Creek.
I can dive deeper and come up drier
than any man in 40 counties.
    I'm a sandstorm inside a whirlwind.
I was born in a powderhouse and raised in a gun factory.
I'm bad from the bottom up
    and clear grit plumb through.
    I'm chief of Murdertown.
Don't all speak at once or I'll turn loose
    and scatter death and destruction
full bent for the next election."

Leave me go first. Landlord friend of mine lost an apartment complex to ignorance.. Blacks decided to cook a hog in the bathtub. Burnt the whole apartment complex to the ground.

I'd rather talk about the 16.8 million rental victims of the hurricanes in the past three years were successful in getting their landlords to put them up until they got the power back. Then I'd like to think about how the 100,000 plus people who were without power this past week in Texas, specifically, how the renters got there landlords to put them up in a motel or hotel room, too. And, not to forget the 1.5 million people in Washington and Oregon, who were without power in freezing tempertures, many for weeks on end...lots of renters here folks...did they all cry, cuss, and harass their landlords between midnight and sunup?

They are still flashing back... Tenant is evicted for non payment. Neighbors tell me where they are.. I show up in court , they don't. I testify they both are in the county motel. Judge picks up phone and calls the jail. They are there and I have to go see the male to get a parties name so they can get the tenants belongings out of the home. I set up a date with the party to remove all the furniture , ect. in the home. They only take the food and sign a release that is all they are taking. Tenants are in jail forever for faking a drug perscription. I sell remaining furniture at the flea market.

Landlord shows up unnannounced with new prospective tenants. Current tenant is in bathroom giving birth to a brown demon. Current tenant lets them in, and the first place the landlord shows the three new prospective tenants is the large bathroom. Current tenant sees 4 people walk in, gag, and run into eachother backing out. Current tenant thinks it's pretty funny.
