    Calculate how many bags per cubic yard and then calculate that one cubic yard will cover approximately 80 s.f. with 4" of concrete.

    The Slurry sprayed does actually dry kinda hard and crusty and retains the water to grow the grass. I had a man tell me I needed 40 80# bags to do the sidewalk. Sounds like a lot to me. If so I better call Lowes to have them load the pallet on the trailer.

    Determine your square footage, if your going 4 inches thick divide your total square footage by 3, then divide that by 27.


    27 cubic foot in a yard of concrete.

    You're going to need about 1.2 yds. It takes about 55 60lbs bags to make 1 yd. So thats about 3300 lbs per yard divided by 80 lbs bags. Thats about 42 80 lbs bags per yard. And 1/5th of another yard, we'll say 9. All this adds up to you needing 51 80lbs bags to do your project.

    You really, really don't want to do that much with bags of pre-mix unless $$ is no object.

    Uh, Dude. It would probably be cheaper to get a truck to pour it. Its gonna suck mixing it by hand

    50 80# bags will run around $200 plus the labor to form and finish it. Cripe a cement truck will cost more than that to deliver. Pa... How did you know a Mexican mason was doing it? Are you psychic??

    Why not just buy the bags and lay them out for the sidewalk. They will harden over time and rain. Don

    Most trucks have a 3 yard limit, you have to buy 3 yards before they will come out. Maybe you could make it a little longer and wider. Mixing that much by hand will be an all day job, and you will be very tired when its all over. Now if you have access to a mixer, that'll sure help.

    Be cheaper to buy the gravel, sand and cement, especially with you having a truck and tractor.

    With a good size portable mixer the project wouldn't take long at all.

    Assuming you will be using 60# redi-mix concrete and a 4"
    thickness, use the following.

    5 s.f. = 4bags
    10s.f. = 7bags
    15s.f. = 10 bags
    20s.f. = 14 bags
    25s.f. = 17 bags
    30s.f. = 20 bags
    40s.f. = 27 bags
    50s.f. = 34 bags
    We sell 60# concrete mix 56 bags to a pallet, weighs about 3410#.
    60# bag of concrete contains 1/2 cubic foot.
    80# or 90# sacks will break your back,

    Doubt youll get it with 50 bags. A little square of quikrete at my house took 10 bags. 4" - 5" thick



    PLUS, Think of all that mixing to do, and it will probably crack


    But anyways, thats 1.0 yards of concrete, you will need.

    1000 to have it poured. Youll be mixing all weekend and then some! [;)][;)]

    You will need just over a cubic yard on concrete. Always allow yourself 10 to 15 percent overage. You don't want to do that volume in sack-crete. Have a quick mix truck come by and you'll save lots of time and money. Also, don't forget to wet down the sand before pouring the concrete.

    Definitely want to rent a site mixer for this job. Throw in a few bags, add your water and wait. Then dump the mixer and start spreading/smoothing.

    Bag redy mix does not have enough aggreate to be very strong, its ok for small slabs, like under porch steps, and repairs stuff like that.
