I'll drink to your leg, if you drink to my arm.
How many plates, pins, and/or screws?
    Feeling you pain, man.....
Enjoy the drugs, rest up, and keep that sucker elevated, if advised to do so.
In a week or so, once the pain subsides, you'll probably be climbing the walls from the boredom.

A broken bone (especially a leg) shows how vulnerable we really are.

Hope it heals soon and you're back to normal.

I was cutting down a neighbor's tree two weeks ago. This was on a steep slope. The tree fell where I wanted it to. I started walking downhill. Then, the tree started sliding downhill. I jumped out of the way so that it missed my torso. The side of the trunk caught my leg and dragged me under it, then it fell on my lower leg. It took them 30 minutes to cut the tree leg off of the leg. Got a dislocated kneecap, dislocated knee, and fractured femur. Boy did that hurt.

Had to go to surgery. Was in the hospital for a week. Am at home now, have to do lots of excercises, am still on pain meds. I haven't been able to get to the computer for 2 weeks. Hard to concentrate to write on the computer. I am taking two injections in the belly every day to prevent blood clots from going to the lungs.
I will give an update later.

remind me not to hire you!! wow [:D]

OUCH! Hope you heal up well, bro. FWIW- I have a problem with sweaty feet IF the sole of my foot is in a cast. Found an easy fix- a small aquarium air pump. Put pump on floor at foot of bed, slip air hose between sole of foot and cast. Keeps air moving- no sweat, no swell, no stinky feet. Take care, take the drugs. Um- say, Alan, did you have anyone in mind to leave your guns to? [8D]

Speedy recovery! Ask your Doc about a Physical Therapy consult, help keep your muscles good while you recuperate, and then more PT to help get over teh leg being broke...

Allen: Be damn carefull in therepy as sometimes they go too strong too soon. Broke my leg on the job about 18 years ago. In a cast 5-6 weeks.
Finally cast off. first day in therepy something wasnt right and leg was broke again in same place. 5 more weeks in cast. Didnt go back to therepy. No, I didnt sue but now wonder if I should have. I dont think

dang cutting trees seems to be dangerous, as of late glad to here you are still around. Get well word to the wise. DO THE PHYS THERAPY it hurts like he11 but in the end it will pay off[;)]

I had an uncle killed in march when he was clearing trees at his place. his son took a load of wood to the house and came back to find him standing with his head pinched between two trees. nobody knows what exactly happened needless to say he didn't make it. [:(]
