The subs and catamarans is what concerns me. Everything else is just a target for the U.S. Navy. You can have the equipment, but you have to monkey who knows what he is doing to use it effectively. 0 -

Yep, all of our technology is being transfered out of this country due to the fair trade laws. Our corporations are seeking the cheap labor to compete with the foreign products. This is a big mistake and we will not have the mfg plants to create the products we need for war at some point.
Its a stupid game we have bought into and it could distroy us at some point! But of course all of our great honorable leaders have assured us that this it the right path.
It is also interesting that the Russians are arming all our potential enemys and are snuggling up with the Chinese and Iranians and Putin is rattling the sabre again. You must always be vigilant folks and have a strong defense. We talk to much and share too much to keep our military strong.0 -

While the pictures were cool, the text accompanying it was mostly alarmist claptrap. The words "possibly", "estimates", and "maybe" appear too often for this thing to be taken seriously. "Perhaps up to one hundred!!!!!!" Well, so long as we're guessing here, why not make it an even thousand just to be safe in your prognostications?
Everything presented points to China wanting a blue-water navy.
Now considering China recieves over 25% of her oil supply from overseas, why is that such a surprising move? When the shoe was on the other foot, did America sit back and say, "Oh well, we increasingly rely upon international trade for our economic health... we'll let the British navy defend it for us!"
I don't think so.

I don't think we should support Taiwan if China invades. From what I
understand, Taiwan is part of China. Also, in my opinion, we will fight
China only if US policy stays in the bully mode. Remember when Chaney
wanted China to explain why they were spending so much money on their
military? Like EMM says, war is inevitable if warmongers have their way.

As China's fate is linked so tightly to our own, I do not think it's "hijacking" the thread to say that war with China will only be accomplished if idiots have their way. I notice you did not admonish anyone else for their caustic comments regarding Clinton, so rather than take umbrage at someone slighting your sacred cow, I suggest you come to realize that whatever we do has a great deal of impact on China and vice versa.0 -
China's military is scary. The only thing I know is from what I've seen on documentaries (national geographic) and what a couple of friends who live in maylasia who have family in a part of China tell me. But from what I get, China is like several different countries in one, and they are having a huge economic growth. Their kids spend ten years of their lives growing up in special schools to either become a law enforcement officer or a soldier. And they have alot of them. I think in a ground fight, soldier to soldier, they would probably obliterate us. Its a good thing we have more nukes. 0
