whompuss - I was really close to you then... I was at the public range in the Osceola National Forest, in/near Lake City, not far from Jax or the Georgia line...

Did the silohette thing on Saturday. 80 rounds through the .22 and 80 rounds with the .22 Hornet Contender. I managed to shoot my best scores ever in all four disciplines that I shot.

Lucky you, I leave near Statesboro/Savannah and the rain moved through in bands from the west. Much as I hated it the farmers really needed it, crops are suffering from drought. You're also lucky to have the public range, we have few in GA. Lucky for me I've got a friend with a 150 acre ranch nearby and he's an avid shooter. I can shoot pistol on my 3 acres but my bleepin liberal neighbor bitches all the time, despite my backstop that would stop a 105.

I peened the rear sight on the Super Blackhawk to tighten it up, so I had to "sight it in". About 200 rounds worth of varying velocities and function, most of which were mild target loads. By the way, Chuck Hawks has real good advice on this procedure.

I went head to head with my best bud, shooting identical Ruger MKII's freehand at 25 feet. I got owned.

It was a very good day at the range.

Shot shells, bottle caps, and other small stuff outta my .22 at 100 yards. Can't get enough of this rifle's accuracy, probably should get myself one of those sniper training cubes.

Also, hitting a target at 100 yards from my XD-9 made me feel better about my pistol shooting skills [:D]

Got a huge hardwood stump 50' off of the deck out back.

Adjusted the sights on my 22/45 Ruger. It was way out, 4' low and 3" to the right.

Adjusted the rear sight on my Glock 23, it was shooting about 3" to the left at that distance, Dead in the X ring now.

Fired 2 boxes of reloads through the SIG 226.

Couple of rabbits came out on the back driveway to see what all the noise was about so got a couple of shot through the 17HRM too.

Found out that those steel spinner targets weren't made for 357 SIG. Dents them and cracks the welds. My nephew had shot it a few months ago with my 220 Swift. That will greatly shorten the life of those targets.

Topped out over 90 both days this weekend, so I spent most of my time inside.....so I sorted ammo and cleaned a few safe queens. Might go shoot indoors later in the week.

I shot it with a real big gun that made a lot of noise and it kicked a lot. Then I shot it with a camera. I'm selling the pics to the highest bidder. I'm waiting for a call back from Star magazine[:D].

I hear Michael Moore is missing, did you hear that rumor too?[^]

    Very cool, where at?

It looks like I am going to have a lot more free time fairly soon, so I am thinking of maybe starting doing matches and all that.

Ah yeah, thanks! I guess I could make a trip over there every once in a while, but I probably need to start looking for some shooting related activities around CoS. I mean, I have a blast picking off shot shells at 100 yards with my CZ, but it'd be cool to put the skill to the test. Do you have to join the club to participate in a match?

Shot about 50 rounds through my 1911. It got a little testy (had about two or three failures to feed), but I'm pretty sure that was due to the fact that I hadn't oiled it enough or cleaned it properly from last weekend.
