if I spend most of my play money for the next year or so on paying off this bike that we are [hopefully] getting instead of to the gun collection?

As a general rule, guns will continue to appreciate from the day you buy them. Bikes, on the other hand, will continue to depreciate from the day you buy them until sometime after your death when they become classic collector's items.[:D] However, you need to get what ever will make you happy. 0 -

i'd forgive ya, but just think first...
motorcycle: limited enjoyment time, gas, maintenance, insurance, upgrades, payments, depreciation (depending on the make and model) etc...
guns: indoor/outdoor ranges (year round fun), good investment for future, one time purchase (no payments), insurance against theft not just to handle, no special license to renew to buy (unless ffl or other), easy maintenance, etc....

Why go into debt for a bike that will (most likely) depreciate??
Guns are better "investments" IMHO...not that I'm saying to go into debt buying guns...just save your $$ and buy a good gun when you saved up some extra...it's a reward for financial responsibilty...

think though...is it something you really want or is it an impulse because your buddy has one?
also think of storage...where you gonna keep it when it's raining or over the winter months? motorcycles are just 2 wheel cars...you'll own it for a while, then trade it in for the new model, then trade for something else, then you'll get a 4-wheeler, trade, trade,...more money, insurance, maintainance, payments....
not trying to talk you out of it. hell, i'd like to get one. the thought of just taking off and enjoying being out...
my advice is to just factor in everything from payments to accessories and how long you plan to keep it. and go from there.0 -

i say go for it. i'm debating trading a few of my guns that i havent shot for a while on a motorcycle. now normally i would wait and buy one when i could afford one but the price of gas and the fact that i have regretted selling mine for years are pushing me towards this decision 0 -

Own a house and 2004 and 2006 vehicles, both bought new with less thatn 40 miles on them. Between the vehicles, they have 30k miles total.
