Elk hunt PICS!! (warning dead stuff)

This hunt was fast and furious. I can't believe its over but it was a GREAT hunt! I didn't see a single elk on day 1 but on day 2 I moved to a lower elevation and was into elk all day before finally closing the deal late in the evening with a great bull. Thank you to all the guys over in the black powder forum for playing 20 questions with me (this was my 1st black powder hunt), especially Odawgp who answered any question I threw out no matter how silly. Here are the pics.

The happy hunter.

This bull brought a herd of 5 cows into a watering hole late on day 2. The cows arrived first followed by the bull about 20 second later. The cows were only about 10 yards away when they figured out something was wrong due to the swirling winds. They were starting to leave when the bull moved quickly to the edge of the pond. He froze just long enough for me to put a shot on him at less than 40 yards.

I'm not ready to come back to civilization yet so I'm headed back to camp in the morning for a few more days.

    I didn't. Because of the high temps we worked all night to get him out of the woods and into a meat cooler here in town. Then I went back to the woods. I had a client that needed to meet this afternoon and I am headed back to the woods early am tomorrow.

    The best way to communicate remotely with a laptop is with an cell phone card. Verizon offers one but I'm sure others do also.
