S&W vs. Ruger, which has better revolvers 0 -
What is the advantage to having a single action revolver over a dual action. Isn't a single action one where you can't fire by just pulling the trigger? I see a lot of those on GB when searching. I myself would prefer to be able to shoot in one motion. 0 -
sw has better trigger, ruger is built heavier, better get both. 0 -
Smiths are prettier. [:)] 0 -
Rugers are cast, and Smiths are forged.
Any questions ??

I don't care for the geometry of the Ruger grips. 0 -
I prefer Rugers. I'm not saying Smiths are inferior, just stating my personal preference. 0 -
Ruger makes better single actions than S&W, S&W makes better double actions than Ruger, so which do you want? 0 -
Sorry they are both great, own them both, wouldn't put one over the other.
Maybe you should ask the guy who hangs out in Locust's shop, he knows.......0 -

Who wants a forgery? [;)]0 -
Let's see....The question was S&W vs Ruger, which has better revolvers? They're both good in different ways. However I prefer the Smiths. Here is how to shoot "a" colt.

my choice is S&W 0 -
Both are good quality. Neither have failed me. 0 -
I've only got two of each. I shoot the Smiths more. 0 -

i wouldn't want to be shot with ether
S&W is much, much quicker to reload than a ruger, colt doesn't even play into the word quick0 -
S&W by far 0 -
S&W or the colt python is my choice.
As far as the triggers, it ain't that hard to smooth them single/double and lighten them.0 -
I have to say Ruger is number 1 IMHO, but I also collect Rugers. S&W also is a good gun and I have a few S&W's that I really like, such as the 686 Combat Master. You wont go wrong with either one. 0 -
S&W for aesthetics and smooth action. 0 -

Better is such a subjective term . . .
I like 'em both but if I had to choose would take the S&W0 -
Double action goes to S&W, hands down. However, you can't beat a Ruger single action revolver in modern times.[;)] 0 -
s&w. easier to work on. 0 -
S&W have smoother actions. Never understood all the hoopla about Smiths being fragile. Owed several over the years and shot the heck of them without every having any wear issues. 0 -
i wouldn't give up my 686 for anything but then thats the only smith I own as for Ruger i have over a dozen and like them all ,
they're both good , you will just have to try them and see for yourself which you like best0 -
In this environment you will find those who like both and shoot both so the best thing to do is ask someone if you can shoot there ruger or smith. 0 -
Haven't fired a smith in years, I do love my rugers, I have the set 44 mag,357 mag,22 convert(22lr/22 mag) 0 -
Like 'em both for different reasons. Smith for accuracy, smoothness, and handling. Ruger for durability and reliability. 0
