Tactically manipulating a firearm under lethal force pressure is extremely hard. Quite a few books and statistics from a vast amount historical data show that only about 1/3 of the rounds fired impact on the target. This doesn't seem to be that bad, until you look at other statistics that show approximately 90% of gun fights happen under 7 yards and comprise less than 3 total shots. How realistic is it then that when most people can would be lucky to hit their attacker, you are going to hit one of the smaller areas, and an area that is most likely to be moving?
REMEMBER IF YOU JUST SHOOT AND SPRAY YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT YOU HIT WITH INTENTION OR NOT. SOMETHING FOR THOUGHT[:D][:(][}:)][:D][xx(]

PD policy requires that I have at least 10 rounds at my disposal. They can be in one gun, two guns, or one gun and a reload. Usually, it is 13 rounds; 7 in the gun and 6 more in a spare mag. 0 -
I carry three 7 round mags for my Colt Defender, or if I have my Glock 27 I carry three 10 round mags. 0 -
I carry 6 in the gun and 2 speed loaders. 0 -
1 in the chamber and a full clip of 7. 0 -
2-6rd clips +1. 0 -
Can't CCW in my area, but when we go camping it's as many as the belt holds.[:D][:o)]

Hey Mr Nunn do you agree with the stats I posted, when I have a full clip of 15 or 16 I spend most of the time keeping my pants up. Gut but no butt. 0 -
My chain gun (CCW type II Mod A, TFCBXT) eats a lot of ammo. I carry close to 3,000 rounds when packing light in summer clothes to keep it concealable.
In the winter the ammo load is closer to my personal limit of 5,000 rounds.0 -
At a minimum, I carry 17. That is with my Firestar. I have an extended magazine that holds 9 plus one in the chamber. Then, I carry a spare magazine with 7 more. If I'm carrying my Witness, it is 21. That's a magazine of 10 plus one in the chamber with a spare 10 round magazine. 0 -
I don't know about your figures. Txs probably could offer an opinion.
Of the shooting incidents (four) with which I am intimately familiar:
Three shots were fired, one hit.
Three shots were fired, one hit.
Three shots were fired, three hits.
Six shots were fired, one hit.0 -
A full cylinder or a load mag. Don't imagine I'll need more in one encounter. 0 -
5 in and 5 extra's.Dont see myself needing more than that in a concealed carry situation. 0 -
8 or 13. Depends if I take my S&W 640 or not. 0 -
p3skyking: we go to the same school of thought. 0 -
Normally 18 total.
Colt Anaconda .44 mag loaded and two 6 round quick reloaders.
But I was taught the two taps and a pat when dealing with the target.
Two to the body and one to the head.0 -
I carry no spares, but only as many as the gun will itself hold.
Anything else would defeat the "concealed" purpose in "carry".0 -
one mag in the G23, 13 rnds. 0 -
CC 6+1 in P3AT or PM40 and an extra clip of 6. 0 -
depends on what gun i carry, i usually carry a .45 so its usually 22rds or three clips gun holds 7+1, mags hold 7 0 -
Judging by what Ive read on LEO's confrontations with speeders recently, I suggest three bushel baskets, each full with double loaded bandoliers wrapped around the top of each, four sets of brass knucks, and twelve tasers within reach of either hand.. 0 -
.45, 8 in the mag, one in the tube.
1 spare mag of 8, 17 total.
Unless I'm on my way to, or from, a match.
Then it's 49.0 -
depends on circumstances, usually one in the pipe 13 in the grip, plus an extra thirteen in spare mag, i have been known to have that plus 26 in two more extra mags, one in the pipe plus 8 in the grip on my backup, plus 8 in the extra clip. if tshtf then hopefully that will get me to my trunk were we have on in the pipe and doublestacked 30s for a total of 61 there, so on a good day 40+17+61=118? anything over that hopefully someone else has dropped something. 0 -
Pending what I am carrying just what is in the gun. Kahr PM9 =7, S&W 65 = 6, Browning HP =14. If I ever get in a gunfight I figure to make all rounds count. Then I will use their weapon should I be out of ammo and the conflict not settled. Or If I make it back to the truck something larger will end it once and for all. 0 -
..7 or 8 rounds in the .45, one extra 7 or 8 round mag on me.
...Same for .45 in the console of the truck.
...12g. pump w/3 3" 00 mag rounds...and buttstock shell holder w/6
2 3/4" high brass 00's, in the truck...[;)]
...then there are the three LAWS, but they probably wouldn't fire anyway...[}:)]

If I am carrying my .38 I only carry the 5 shots in the gun.
If I am carrying one of my .45's I have a full mag +1 in the chamber in the gun and 2 extra mags in my back pocket.0 -
13 rounds of 45acp 0 -
5 shots in my revolver. People who have a lot of shots must miss a lot.
