Scientologists
We have a big problem with scientologists down here harassing private citizens who speak openly about scientology in a negative way. There is this big Scientology Church in clearwater. It has two white lines running in front of it. They routinely hire clearwater police to protect these white lines. If you walk on the whote lines and your not in the church, they record your license plate number and have you followed. something crazy about that to me. anyway found this post about it http://home.tampabay.rr.com/sp/PI.html

Scientoligists have bought 24 properties in the clearwater area. They came to clearwater, because of the name "CLEAR". A clear to them is the highest thing you can be. Theres talk of them wanting to rename Clearwater when they own enough properties. They want to call it "Hubbard" florida. 0 -

For about a year, they harassed me with death threats and two attempts on my life. The story is, to me, long and boring - but true.
Their brainwashing school for children - the delphian school - is within rifle range of my home.

OK - but I'm doing this reluctantly.
I was managing sales and marketing for a very large computer supplier. The delphian school called for a bid on 50 microcomputers; we won the bid and delivered the boxes on Net 30 terms. They didn't pay, but promised and promised over about 6 months.
Finally, I rented a big bobtail truck, got three big guys to come with me, and drove to the school to repo the machines. They didn't want to release them to us and offerred to give us a check. I told them that it would have to be certified funds, or we were taking the computers. They wanted me to pick it up the next day. Told them we would return the computers the next day when they paid. They didn't want to do that, so they went and got a certified check for me, and I left.
For the next few weeks, I was followed everywhere I went. One day they put a rattler in my mailbox - I couldn't prove it, but that was a method they used to spook people and/or hurt them.
A couple of weeks later, one of their trucks ran me off the road - I almost went over a cliff.
The police claimed to have investigated the incidents, but couldn't bring charges, due to lack of witnesses/evidence.
I went back and told them if they didn't leave me alone, I'd come back and physically hurt them.
They are a bunch of cowards, so I never heard from them again.
I TOLD you it was boring.

Knocking on someones door is generally less lethal than say, a rattle snake in the mail box or being ran off the road over a cliff. Most likely not a real accurate comparison there. But you at least tried, with what you had to work with.0 -

Doug - I was not aware that the delphian school was a Scientologist School. As Controller for a large printer in Portland I had to fight with them for months and months to get them to pay bills. They would send me to different organizations in LA to collect a portion of the funds saying it was a split payment responsibility. But of course none of that was discussed up front. Very interesting![;)][;)]
We eventually got paid but is took a long time.[:(]0 -

knocking on the door, pushing it on a Internet forum, all the same, bottom line it is the same, the only difference is that most Christians refuse to acknowledge anyone else's rights because their belief is the only true belief, and blaming the entire Scientology religion for a few nut jobs would be like blaming the christian faith for jim jones, or any other violence done in the name of Jesus0 -
I personally don't mind them knocking on my door. Had a man and his wife stop one day and told them they couldn't change my mind about their religion but were welcome if they didn't try. We had a nice visit and every time they made their rounds they would stop. They were very nice people and never handed me any more booklets or even mentioned religion again. They are gone now and I miss them. 0 -

Scientology is a prime example of a totally made up religion. I read L. Ron Hubbard's science fiction stories back when I was a kid, and was astounded some years later when I heard about the religion that wsas obviously based on them. 0 -
