GLOCKS Rock!
Guy chronicles his torture test to his Glock. Truly, it is the perfect handgun.[}:)] Stir, stir.

Anyone who feels different just hasn't put enough rounds through enough diffrent types.
Pick a pistol that fits you and your purposes and shoot it often. If your particular specimen displays high reliability with the number of rounds you'll be firing between cleanings, you've found your perfection.
Now for my stir....If the Glock is as unbelievably great as this guy claims to demonstrate, why hasn't it been adopted by any of the world's major military powers? [;)]0 -
If you think military weapons are chosen simply on the basis of what performs best, then you really have another thing coming. 0 -

the only problem with owning a Glock is
not owning 2 [}:)][}:)][}:)]0 -

I dont know what that guy did to his buddies hk but i got one glock model 30 i like it but im tellin you it aint no match for either one of my HK usp's. and if you ever shoot a sig .40 and then shoot a glock .40 you wont own a glock in that caliber RIDICULOUS RECOIL 0 -
oh yeah as far as the reliability issue . Navy Seals pretty well carry what they want and most chose Sig Sauer or HK..I own all 3 and truth be known none of them has ever mafunctioned.but the glock is hardest to shoot out of all of em 0 -
hobby guy there are a few of muy guns that will never make the chopping block and my HK's are on that list 0 -
Breaks my heart,(what heart?)to hear to anything bad
about GLOCK or HK. Carry and shoot both USP 40 and 23
40 regularly and love them both.I trust them with my life. quote: "WE DON'T NEED NO STINKING BADGES"0 -

Thanks for a real life common sense comparison.
I would believe your comparison over the test performed by some hyper active Glock fanatic with several buckets of test media and an airplane and an agenda.0 -
you may have said what i wanted to say bobek...I like my glock as i posted but no doubt I love my HK's..glock doesnt make a bad gun..just some that dont shoot as well as others..I guess the best way to put it is: the list of guns i like better than my glock is short (conversation for another day) but the list of guns I like my glock over is long S&W,Ruger,Taurus,Walther< Berretta, on and on 0 -
Very well put, SUBMARINER, couldn't have said it better.
I have to trust my life with these two. quote:"WE DON'T NEED NO STINKING BADGES"0 -
If someone would, please take the price difference between a Sig or HK and the Glock in a similar caliber, size, weight, features, etc.
Now ask yourself, if you gave Mr. Gaston Glock that price difference on every single Glock he manufactures and sells in the U.S.A., how much greater a firearm would the more expensive and presumably enhanced Glock be?
It's sort of like comparing a contractor's Ford F-150 pickup with a soccer-mommy's Lexus SUV. Both excellent vehicles with impressive track records. Both are highly desirable. Ford for the working masses, Lexus for the more casual and affluent.0 -
I don't like the feel of Glocks, that's why I went with an XD. The ergonimics are great. Have nothing against Glocks though...they are dependable. Has a torture test like this been done with an XD??? 0 -

Are you paid on commission to do marketing for glock? Don't you have better things to do with your time?
glocks are pieces of crap... their trigger return springs malfunction much more often than semi auto handgun series from other manufacturers such as Ruger...0 -

Hmm...I currently own 2 Glocks (21, 36), and have owned a 19, 26 and 30. Besides replacing the sights, I loved 'em all right out of the box, and never, not once, had a single failure with any of 'em. I like the triggers (NOT DA like some people suggest; at least there's not a whole lot of out-of-the-box DA's with a 5.5# trigger...that with a simple part replacement can be lowered to 3.5#...). What I don't like--I really wish they had an external thumb safety; carrying the G36 in a IWB rig, with a round in the chamber...I've never been 100% comfortable with it.
I also own 2 USP's--both .45's, a fullsize and a Tactical. The tactical is great; tackdriver accuracy, great ergonomics, bombproof reliability, and a pretty good trigger...but I'm not a fan a DA first shot. The good thing is, you can carry it condition 1 (cocked & locked). The fullsize is about the same, not quite as accurate, and with a less-than great trigger.
I've never been a Sig fan because they HAVE to be DA first shot (OK, the new DAK models (which I probably won't go for, since I don't particualrly care for DAO) and the new SA P220 may make me rethink, if I ever get the chance to shoot one); I don't like transitioning from DA to SA--this is the same reason I'm not entirely in love with my M92FS. With a Glock, there is no transition. With a USP in condition 1, there is no transition--with the added bonus of a restrike capability if she don't go bang the first time (altho, to be honest--I've NEVER had a dud primer that went bang the second time; if it didn't go bang the first time, it did't go bang on the 2nd, 3rd, or 10th attempt...).
So...USP or Glock for me? I have to say, somewhat reluctantly, Glock. I love my HK's; they're great pistols, but...Glocks seem to work better for me...but not by much. The tactical holds the edge on accuracy, but really is not a carry-friendly package (especially with the vortex-style flash supressor I have on mine...).
Now, if I would throw my P7 in there...P7, hands down. The finest 9mm handgun EVER made, IMHO. Dead-on accurate, reliable beyond words, and, possibly, one of the best mechanical safeties ever put on a handgun.
But...comparing a P7 to a Glock would kinda be like comparing a Cadillac to a Geo Metro...[:D]0 -
I specialize in being critical of others![:D] Not really, just you.[B)]...you need to settle down and stop calling names or your gonna get someone elses thread poofed. 0 -
...I thought the thread was intended as it appears most took it, as a fun, witty, sarcacism filled jaunt into the world of Glock land.
Appears some took it serious and cartod is not included in "some".
...GLOCK ON!...cartod, I mean ROCK ON! oh hell, somethin like that...[;)]

Glocks, rocks, and locks are all good paperweights. 0 -
I am going to throw my 45 HiPoint into a 5 gallon bucket of wet cement and then clean it off with lighter fluid then dry the lighter fluid off with a match and after I show a target I shot full of holes with the same Hipoint I will demand that my HiPoint is the best in the WORLD!!!!! 0 -
yes most gvmnt weapons are contracted but the sw groups do get to be selective in what they carry 0 -

Take pictures....and claim it passed all this with flying colors. Same as the ya-hoo that posted the Glock "test", you wouldn't want to admit that it failed after investing all that time, money and effort. [;)]0 -

I have contucted my own study on just this scenario, I have found that a Colt provides much better paper compression, as well as being more asthetically pleasing. Results: The Colt is a better paper weight than the Glock.

Well, when the military picked the Beretta 92 over the Sig 226, mainly so that Italy would agree to some new missile bases, that would be one example. Then there are countless weapon systems that got put into service mainly because they were going to be built in the right congressional district. Whatever else you think of Donald Rumsfeld, he was right to poopcan the Crusader, a massively overweight artillery system that was very good at funneling massive amounts of money into constituents' pockets and little else.0 -

This despite their being the least expensive and most aggressively marketed. It's more than just politics.0
