BOYCOTT INTERSTATE ARMS (IAC)
Interstate arms has been involved in many activities that are questionable and in fact hurting the dealers in america. One prime example is they are taking the used guns they take in on LE trades and selling them on a retail website firectly to the public therefore directly taking profits out of the dealers hands. I know from insiders that they are planning on doing this with the new ones as well. When they acquire these "confiscated" weapons from LE agencies it is MA state law that they give a monetary value of these firearms to the general funds of the state however they do it their own way which is giving the department money off of the new duty guns. They do this by having two different FFL's Ivanhoe outlet and interstate. I personally dont see the huge deal however the law is the law and when a distributer breaks it it trickles down to the dealers as well. Irresposible comanies such as this are severely crippling the industry. One more thing they do is by all LE mags from glock in huge bulkloads (fet exempt) and then turn and sell them to the dealers. Here again trickery to gain a few extra dollars from the dealers hands. Isnt a distributers responsibility to help the dealers not steal their buisiness. I suggest a boycott on interstate arms the the product they bring in from china (norinco)
This is not the first time they have been in hot water and we all know that norinco's arent a worthy product anyway but i do not believe they have any right to make an industry that is already the toughest even tougher to make a dollar.

Also, gunlaw, what you are hinting at is completely against the site that hosts this forum. The point of the auction side is that private individuals and dealers from anywhere have an outlet to sell their stock to anyone else that wants it (within the law). What you are driving for is for everyone to buy their guns only from their local dealers, thereby driving this site out of business.

You are advocating Socialism for the gun industry. I am sure that is not your intention but that is the result of it.
I am aware of many underhanded practices of some in the gun business but those that provide the most product for the least money will win in a capitalist state and that is that.
I don't like Wal-Mart but will buy there whatever is cheaper. If the local grocer thinks I should pay him more money for the exact same thing thing he is dreaming and so it is with ammo, guns etc.
Frankly the local gun shops are more likely to screw the average customer so I am not crying over their reduced business. their over pricing poor attitude got them this as it opened the opportunity for others to give more for less money.
Changing laws aside and was a switch IMO off your original point cutting out the middle man only happens when the middle man is no longer needed. Your insistence he take a cut and expect it be so is, again, socialism.

So they buy these firearms from the law enforcement agencies or let them take the equivelent amount in trade for new firearms and accesories. (Giving the LE a better deal on new equipment with no cash outlay from their limited budgets.) They then turn around and offer these weapons to the public through a website (Bear in mind these sales still have to go through an FFL dealer) Are you concerned that this unfairly injures the dealer by depriving him from a sale of a new gun instead of a transfer fee? (Look at where you posted your message are you aware of the auction site you are on does the same thing?) Or are you worried that crime guns are going back onto the street? Would you rather they be destroyed ?
There is nothing wrong or illegal with the practice. As for the LEO mags. There is no excise tax on magazines only on firearms and ammunition. They get these mags cheap because Glock is dumping them on the market. The mags are NOS that has been closedout because the markuing provision died with the AWB0 -
i was looking at a rifle awhile back, the range/shop i go to wanted 400 bucks more than i could buy it for elsewhere, and i really like the range /shop owner so here are my choices
1. pay the range/shop full price
2. buy the gun elsewhere, then go into the range shop, and leave 400 bucks on the counter {really the same as choice number 1}
3. buy the gun elsewhere save 400 bucks for Christmas
elsewhere is a guy i know who will buy it from the same distributor for 20 bucks over cost, gun was a Springfield m1a loaded, 1,400 vs 1,8000 -

Here is another one that is absoulutely exceptional the gun room in circleville ohio. try to call one of these places and tell them you have a gun that you know nothing about and would like to trade it in make up something valuable nationwide and ask them what its worth. You will get an honest answer. BTW that is the best way to test your dealer call them up with a firearm that you claim you know nothing about and talk to them on what it is worth going in their door and out, this should the first thing you do. When you develop a level of trust you will get what you want and usually they will go out of their way to make it happen such as i did. When i had customers that wanted things i didnt have i found who had it for them in turn they would end up giving me alot more buisiness in the end cause they knew they could trust me. I loved that job more than any and that is why i have gone into politics.
BTW i do know that "backyard dealers" exist in large numbers and they are usually the ones that take bribes to sell firearms to people they know they shouldnt but believe me my organization works on things such as this on a daily basis. In the end it all comes down to lets keep the guns in the hands of the people this is not an industry that any of us can watch fail, our rights depend on it!
