the lastest issue of FUR-FISH AND GAME says the coyote offering was down on the fur market, with the result that prices were up.still the better seasonal montana, dakota, alberta goods are moving at 45-55.00,the nice brown types with white bellies at 40-50.00,and the silky western with colored bellies 30-40.00 on the top end,the big eastern brush wolf types are fetching 25-35.00 prices should be strong next fall. that gentleman is... Oh yeah. Shooting a critter the size of a small dog. That proves how brave and manly you are. Wow. I am really impressed. On one side - a guy with a high power rifle and a scope (since he couldn't hit anything without it, most likely), on another side a 30lbs dog, and a cowardly one at that. WOW. It is the gladiatorial fight of the year.

Why don't you get a real job instead of being a sadistic poacher?

You know, if you enjoy killing animals so much, I bet there was something done to you in your childhood to turn you into a freaking sadistic loser. I wonder if you took those coyotes: in season, in license and were you allowed to shoot that many. I hope local Rangers will get interested in you.

You wanted to goad me into reacting. You got my attention.

tiger claw there is nothing wrong with killing a few yotes now and then. Here we have an open season on them year round except during deer season. Me personally i would like to out wit one some day and take a shot at it. But they usually do not bother so i let them be but when grand dad had sheep you bet every time we saw one we shot at it at the least.

Coyotes are varmints and vermin in most places and usually are open season year round. Giant rats in my opinion.

deer are much easier to kill in my opinion than yotes. good for that guy. on Average u have to make 5 stands to kill one yote

There is a "population control" and there is a "senseless slaughter".
You can call Coyote a "varmint", except it doesn't change the fact that Coyote is not a rodent, but is a member of a Dog family.
Yes, since they do not compete with other predators, their population is to be controlled. THAT was not a population control, that was a whole sale butchery by some guy who even lacks the confidence or skill to use iron sights on his rifle.

The guy standing there all proud and "manly" looks so full of his own importance that one will think that that fat red... country guy had just disabled T-VI with a PTRD rifle. That is really sad. Nothing to be proud of at all. Dude, you get off on killing small dogs... Get some help NOW. And please, have the police take your gun away before you graduate to humans.

You kill a coyote with a sniper rifle: no great feat. If You kill a bunch of them and display them in such manner: you gotta be a loser in your life so you have to get reduced to THIS in order to stroke your fragile ego and compensate for whatever... short comings you have. You enjoyed killing them: your place is in mental institution.

People talk about thrill of the hunt: great - go against a grizzly bear with a muzzle loader smoothbore musket - will give you all the thrills in the world. Go against a wolfpack with a musket. Go against a bear in Russian style: cross headed spear (rogatina) and an ax. That will get your adrenalin pumping. And will get bears fed too...

But no. To go against a 30 lbs cowardly shy animal, while armed with a high power rifle, scope, and "hunting" from ambush, is not hunting. It is not a thrill of chase or hunt. It is just some loser. getting doing some emotional masturbation over dead animals.

well we really do not know the facts of this pic. Now i am not for sure but that guy is either a serious dog hunter or a very experience trapper to get that many in one season all by himself you could be looking at a few years worth of pelts.

You have stated your opinion leave it at that. These guys love it when you fight tooth in nail. Only thing happens is you leave agrevated.

    haha.

well i dont support the killing of animals for sport, however i think if you are going to kill something you might as well use the biggest caliber possible and kill it quickly and humanely.

Lot of yotes, that's for sure.

Around here there's a season and a bag limit, unless you've got a livelihood-protection permit (in which case they basically give ya carte-blanche, but you still have to report the carcasses and you'd better not get caught mounting or skinning 'em).

I'd imagine it's the same most anywhere.

Just because they're irritating, sneaky, deadly to pets and farm animals, and (apparently) very numerous doesn't mean the population can't be exterminated in a heartbeat if enough people make it their goal to blow off the law and kill as many as they can.

Maybe he's been keeping his yearly limit on that wall since he was 6. But I doubt it. Unless somebody's got a better explanation, I'm going to say that guy's a poacher, a criminal, and an embarassment to hunters.

Showing off a few yotes you worked hard to take is something to be proud of. Showing off 200 hanging from a barn like gassed field-mice is pretty sick.

Coyotes are for killing anywhere, anytime. Anyone who doesn't think so hasn't seen their livelyhood threatened by them. They also haven't seen a cow eaten alive while calving. I invite those who think killing coyotes whenever the opportunity arises is not right to come a livestock auction barn or livestock raisers' meeting and make their statement. Likely they will be physically removed and advised to never return. I don't condone shooting at an animal unless a killing shot is assured but coyotes are different. I take any shot possible and don't feel bad about an escaped cripple-there's a chance it will die.

Varmits come in all flavors. I even know some two legged varmits. Some even on this board.

Actually, most states (including the one that I live in), do not have a season or a bag limit on coyotes. There is one on fox in most states, which would explain why there are only a few fox pelts up in the picture.
But, back to coyotes. In GA (as it was in SC, MN, PA, and a few other states I have lived in) it is legal to shoot coyotes anywhere, any time (yes that includes nighttime) and with any legal hunting weapon. There are no bag limits and no reporting requirements.
That being said, I highly doubt this guy is a poacher at all.
