How Many Have Learned To Love Your Debit Card
I've never lost/had a wallet stolen. I started using a debit card a few years ago,
occasionally at first ... now almost exclusively. I'm wondering how many here
are avid debit card fans, too. I find it much more convenient than having a wallet
full of various denomination bills and differing amounts of change in my pockets.

We use ours alot here around town at the grocery store or hardware store and at the Mart stores. The only thing is keeping up with reciepts to balance the check book, Im very particular about that. We pay our bills by check, I like having the proof of payment. But the Debt card is great.[;)] 0 -
I have never had one. 0 -
I have one but never used it. I am the guy in the VISA commercial who pulls out cash to buy instead of swiping the card. Wrecks the whole scene. It use to be IF you used a CC you had a separate line. 0 -
Use ours all the time. 0 -
I rarely carry much more than $20 on me these days, the debit card is great. It also provides accurate feedback on exactly when and where the money went. I don't need to write a check for anything. I can pay everything online or with the debit card. 0 -
My credit card is currently just another acount on my bank acount. We use it because its much safer, just transfer money over to it. 0 -
(ALL of our credit cards are locked safely away in our Browning Gold. Credit cards are evil things from Hell/the Devil! We've seen too many folks financially demolished by them[:D]) 0 -
When I work with a client on getting out of debt and learning to budget we usually start with taking away the debit card because it is to easy to spend hundreds of dollars a month just a couple at a time. 0 -

I will pass on the paper trail0 -
I find the debit card the greatest thing since they put ears on a hound
dog. I never keep more than a few hundred in it just in case it gets
illegally used. I can bring up my account on the computer and transfer
money into it easily and keep track on line where it was used and the balance in it. Saves me a lot of work.0 -
I only use the debit card for the cash machine and use my credit card for everythng else.
I Love My Credit Card because i pay the balance everymonth and it earns me extra bonuses.0 -
I use mine all the time. I save my cash for trap shoots. It saves me a trip to the ATM machine and I usually get cash back at Lowes or Home Depot to get cash.
I don't understand why people would write checks to stores anymore when debit cards are faster and safer.0 -
Haven't carried cash on me in years, I swipe everything.[:D]

I no longer carry cash, except for an emergency bill stashed in the wallet. It's all debit card. 0 -
[8D]-I always carry $300/500 cash, but I use my BofA debit card in all stores--
--I have Maximiser accounts and if I lose the card (once) I can call and immediately purge acct--

..has replaced most of my cash carrying. Couple of CC and my DC...and a "little" cash stash...use my DC for about everything, esy and easy again.
...only wish the little bent over old people in the express lane at the grocery store realized there are debit cards! I always find myself behind them while they write a check for "Two Dolla-fitty cent"...[;)]
...this is the last old guy I got stuck behind, he had 2 speeds, slow and stop...

A debit card came with the account.
I have it around here..........someplace.0 -
Never keep cash on me anymore. If I get mugged some night they won't get anything since I'll be canceling the card within minutes. 0 -
"I will pass on the paper trail"
I am with you, select fire.
Tell me, debit card users, about security. If your card is lost and someone spends your checking account dry, what happens?0 -
I want to choke people who write checks when they can use debit cards. In that most checking accounts don't provide free checks but do provide free debit cards, they must just like paying for boxes of checks.
This includes my mother, who, god love her, insists she'll bounce a check or a charge if she uses the card- even though I've explained it a dozen times. 60 isn't old enough to be batty, I don't know what her problem is.
Cash or charge only- no checks! should be posted EVERYWHERE! I very rarely write a check, when I can pay bills online for free; basically only if I owe someone cash and don't have cash on hand. A box of 500 lasts me about 5-6 years.0 -
The only place I frequent that doesn't accept any form of plastic is my friendly, neighborhood gun store. On the one hand, he's lost out on a lot of impulse buys from me, personally. On the other hand, It's kept me from buying things on impulse that I shouldn't have. So it's a wash. Otherwise, I "swipe everything". Thanks to whomever gave me that phrase. 0 -
I use it nearly exclusively, especially on trips. Helps not having to carry $200-300 of cash. [:D] I've pretty much done away with using checks, too slow and have to buy new ones. I've had my checking account for nearly 5 years and I'm still on my second book of checks. 0 -
What's cash?[?] 0 -
I have a Visa Check Card that can be run through like a Credit Card or Debit card and also works at the ATM. I love it. Some people say that it makes spending way too easy but that's just a matter of discipline. I forgot to get cash on the way to the gunsmith today. I needed a new gun case and I needed to pick up my Guide Gun and his store is out in hickville. i don't think there was an ATM machine anywhere near his store. He takes Visa so it was easy. I love it. 0 -
I'm a CASH or CC only person. Partly because I like the feel and smell of cold, hard CASH and frankly our great Gov't and Banking system wants us to use plastic in any form so they can use it against us later and/or mine the statistics of our buying patterns to sell or advertise us more crap.... 0 -
It's hard to tip a topless dancer with a debit card. [:D][:D][:D][:D][:D] 0 -

Unless she lets you swipe it.0 -
i have never had a credit card. i only use debit cards from my bank. no intrest and no getting into debt !! 0 -
Paper Money? They still make that stuff?
99.99% of our cash flow goes through a debit card or electronic payments via online banking. I am of the following that hopes we get rid of physical money one day. No more paper bills, no more pockets full of worthless heavy coins, just good old plastic.
Hell imbed the card strip it into my wrist for all I care. Just no paper/metal money.

We keep very little on hand and use debit cards for everything over $5-10 unless there's a discount for paying cash.
I hate to carry a fat wallet.0
