    They're all children at Christmas.

    That's what I think.

The wife and I give to the Toys for Tots campaign every year. This past donation was made by mail directly to an office at Quantico, VA.

I support Toys for Tots and the Marines who gather and distribute the toys. Children are not here by their own doing, but by the doing of their parents, and Christmas is not an American political thing, it's a Christian thing where we celebrate the birth of our savior. The same savior who reaches out to everyone and offers the gift of everlasting life. I'm sorry you choose to limit that or make the season a political football.

Christmas should include all who wish to participate.

The children are innocent. They never asked to be born.

We support Tots for Tots each year, and will continue to. I would not let a parents choice effect a child at Christmas. We also do Project Angle Tree each year. It's a ministry that buys a Christmas gift for a child, and is given to them from their incarcerated parent.

I choose a family in need. I make sure they are doing what is necessary to better themselves and not scum. I then do what I can to help the kids have a Christmas.

I happen to agree with Wolf.....giving them free toys is just one more part of the red carpet rolled out for them that they can call home about and say "What a country!" and say "You'd better come up here!" If that sounds cold I will remind everyone that it's OBJECTIVE decisions that will have to be made in the future to curb burgeoning population problems and social problems we already have, no matter the season. How many more "feel good" practices can this country afford? And save all the Hitler references and any other knee jerk reactions you might have-I'm right and it'll prove itself eventually.

This happens to be my own thing, or way of feeling, so if you don't agree, just don't agree.

In a nutshell, if I could be certain that Toys for Tots toys were going ONLY American Citizens I would contribute. I have reason to believe, however that MOST are going to illegal aliens. There is no good reason in my opinion, to make life any easier for illegals, regardless of the Christmas Season, regardless of the fact that these are little kids and regardless of how cute they are. I refused to shoot at one of my local clubs this Saturday because it is a Toys for Tots event.

Any particular color American that we should avoid, black, red, yellow, white, brown, or tan? I've never met a puppy or a child that I could be mean to regardless of their color or breed.

    Scrooge: Are there no prisons?
    Benefactor: Plenty of prisons.
Scrooge: And the Union Workhouses? Are they still in operation?
Benefactor: They are. I wish I could say they were not.
Scrooge: The Treadmill and the Poor Law, they're still in full vigor, I presume?
    Benefactor: Both very busy, sir.
Scrooge: Oh! From what you said at first I was afraid that something had happened to stop them in their useful course. I'm very glad to hear it.

Scrooge: I help to support the establishments I have mentioned: they cost enough: and those who are badly off must go there.
1st Benefactor: Many can't go there.
2nd Benefactor : And some would rather die.
Scrooge: If they would rather die, they'd better do it, and decrease the surplus population

Lets rember the reason for the CHRISTmas season. There is a lot of people, especially children who can't help it, that are less fortunate than us...each and every one of us!

If you believe in Christ, and Christmas, how could you not try to bring a special feeling of sense of being, and the feeling of being wanted to a child.

Yes, I don't like being over run with illegals either, and especially having to pay for it all being goverment subsidized. That being said, don't take it out on the kids, and not even their parents(who are doing what any good parent would do, by trying to make life better for their kids). If you really want to resort to the root cause, fire our senators and representatives who pass the laws who support the illegals, and make it lucrative for them to be illegal.

They are not anti hunting and used to do hunting trips but they were pressured into stopping.

Christ was born for illegal aliens as well as American citizens. Remember "for God so loved the WORLD that he gave his only Son." I know a few Marines that would probably invite you to kiss each one of their entire white azzes over that comment. Not on the right cheek. Not on the left cheek. Right in the middle.

Our local marines go out of their way here in my home town and the toys are distributed locally. Get with it and remember Jesus is the reason and that makes the season. I always make it a point to remember that "God didn't make no trash" so don't punish the children.

I have supported Toys for Tots and will continue to do so.

Just out of curiousity, I'd like to why you "have a reason to believe" that most toys are going to illegals

I don't associate the illegal immigration issue with Toys for Tots, but Toys for Tots is not my choice for children's outreach during Christmas even though it is a fine endeavor. We give money or buy toys in support of our Church's outreach and care ministries during Christmas. In doing so I know there's a good chance that some of my gifts might be given to needy children of illegal aliens and that is okay with me because they are innocent victims in this issue. We can't support every good cause, but anyone who is financially able should help support at least one children's outreach program this time of year!

Hey all you guys that support us, thanks. For those of you who don't support for personal reasons, I hold nothing against you. It's your decision who you support.
I kind of have a vested interest in this topic. If you stop by WNDU in South Bend on Saturday, you'll see me there. You may even see me on TV (I hope not). I disagree with the statement that "MOST [toys] are going to illegal aliens." I'm sure some of them are, but there's virtually nothing I can do about that. I have people calling the office all the time about TFT. None have spoken with a foreign accent yet.
On the other side, last year, a lot of white people and black people and brown people and other US citizens picked up toys, but could have bought their own. They drove up in cars nicer than mine talking on cell phones nicer than mine and wasting money on all sorts of stuff. It's not mine to choose who gets what.
On the third side of this strangely shaped coin:
No kidding, right now as I was typing this response, I got a call from a lady who was excited to have her grandson give some toys to a Marine in person. She'll be stopping by on saturday to donate. If you don't want to donate, fine, but you're missing the excitement I heard in her voice just to give to people who don't have.
Stop by and see me on Saturday-ask for Clay.

    His only begotten son...

you are correct that He was born so that All could be saved...

'I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away.

We think so much alike. I thought almost the same thing after reading the post. Except I would say they are all children all year long.

I'm over all the illegal alliens in this country, but I don't think I don't have a hatred towards them. I especially don't harbor anything towards their kids.

What (besides the spelling) does Christ have to do with Christmas and the giving of gifts?

I too have witnessed those driving up to receive toys and turkeys and hams that obviously were affluent enough to be percieved as abusing the program. Also have watched as they used the same kids to go through the lines several times with different adults.
What does this teach the kids?
    Are we enablers?

FYI these were mostly "good ol American white folk"!

i have no problem with kids of any kind, but what i have seen from toy drives is total exploitation by adults, i know a guy that makes rounds to each of them, last year he was bragging how each of his 4 kids got 50 {yes fifty} toys each for a total of 200 free toys, and was proud of his hard work of driving around, and hiding them in the trunk each stop, some cultures i will not mention have made it a way of life to get stuff like this for free, and most are totally capable of providing it themselves, but why should they when people who give have a image of poor children who would not be able to have Christmas without there generosity continue to feed the machine, it is a shame

    1911a1fan,
I've seen this also and those people are very pityful. Those toys he gets won't make it into the hands of kids that really need them.
Your only a kid once and life is a little nicer for a kid if they have a toy or two. I know food and shelter is more important but still a toy is nice to have.
I plan on giving this year. If they make it into the hands of someone who doesn't need it. I can't help that, but I will still give, because people who do need it do get it.

When it comes to a child I will give until hell freezes over no matter what their skin color is or language they speak.

I also could care less about a childs origin, but after seeing all of the "scums", that can afford them, lining up for free stuff, I don't really do much anymore when it comes to these types of things.
I give to St. Judes Childrens Hospital, every month, and to Shands childrens drive for the hospital just north of me.
Also like someone else said,.........if I know of a family that can use help for their children, I also help take care of their needs.
It is a true shame that there are scumbags of all races out there, trying to exploit very good ideas, for their own purposes,......truly sad![xx(]

by the way, here in South Bend, families must sign up ahead of time (Deadline is tomorrow) and give an address and SSN. This minimizes the "professional toy collectors."

I haven't dealt with any personally, but I've overheard my 1stSgt dealing with people requesting specific toys like XBOX 360s, WII, or games for that sort of thing. It isn't pretty.
