When it comes to a child I will give until hell freezes over no matter what their skin color is or language they speak.

+1. Said better and far more briefly than I would have done.

Around here Bikers, not the Marines do the collecting... they usually just grab an old lady and threaten to beat her up if they don't reach a certain level of donations... Crude but there are very few kids that don't get something around here!!!

    +++ What Danny said.

Also on what Warpig said. It's hard to boycot everyone.

I didn't join AARP for several years. My wife called about vehicle insurance. There quote was less than half what we were paying a well known company. Also, less on homeowners policy with more coverage. At this time, these savings are really helping us. I don't agree with their stance on firearms, and let them know. Maybe if enough folks joined that are pro-gun, and let them know, their policy would change. JM.02W

I've seen this also and those people are very pityful. Those toys he gets won't make it into the hands of kids that really need them.
Your only a kid once and life is a little nicer for a kid if they have a toy or two. I know food and shelter is more important but still a toy is nice to have.
I plan on giving this year. If they make it into the hands of someone who doesn't need it. I can't help that, but I will still give, because people who do need it do get it.

yep kids that have a miserable childhood usually become miserable adults, every year i hear of someone through the local grapevine that is in despair, i will help directly bypassing the adults, before we moved last year there was 2 half African American kids that lived down the street, mom was real trash, one year we bought them bikes, later that summer they where not riding them, i found out they where in the pawn shop, i lost it but i bought my son 2 extra bikes, and we loaded them as needed

Some of the toys go to kids in the local community and some are for state or national distribution. Last year, we raised over $10,000 on a motorcycle "Poker Run" for Toys-for-Tots. Do you think for a moment we asked - or cared - if these unfortunate kids are here legally? The Marines work their azzes off to give as many children as possible a Merry Christmas and I'm proud to be a part of it. And you know what? I'd still support them even if I knew every one of those little kids was here illegally. Christmas is not the time of year or the forum to emulate Ebenezer Scrooge. It's the time to play Santa.

The price of a toy? $20.

The smile on a child's face? Priceless.

U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program

    MISSION:
The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

    GOAL:
The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a shiny new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to needy youngsters that will motivate them to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders.

    OBJECTIVES:
The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help needy children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation's most valuable natural resources - our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.

    ACTIVITIES:
The principal Toys for Tots activities which take place each year are the collection and distribution of toys in the communities in which a Marine Corps Reserve Unit is located and in communities without a Reserve Unit that has a Marine Corps League Detachment or group of men and women, generally veteran Marines, authorized by Marine Toys for Tots Foundation to conduct a local Toys for Tots campaign. Local Toys for Tots Campaign Coordinators conduct an array of activities throughout the year, which include golf tournaments, foot races, bicycle races and other purely voluntary events designed to increase interest in Toys for Tots, and concurrently generate toy and monetary donations.

Nowhere is a particular group excluded.

The purpose of the program is to distribute Christmas gifts to needy children, to develop them, and to motivate them to grow into productive community members. That is fair enough.

    Merry Christmas to all.

I think some people just look for excuses to not give!
Why can't they just not give and stop blaming others for it!

    "DON'T support Toys for Tots."

Too late. This load was delivered last Friday to the collection point. That was after a stop at the Salvation Army to leave the toys I had for them.

I want the illegals to go home. But the kids didn't ask to be here and since they are here, as God's children they deserve a Christmas, too.

I don't know how many illegals are getting toy donations, but I figure they should have something to play with while waiting for the bus to take them back to Mexico.

CGR...I will probably get shot for saying this, but I agree. I have NO hatred towards the illegals that are here. I DO have a problem with our government letting this problem get out of hand in the first place. If I were in the illegals shoes, I would try my dangest to get "over here" too. I don't blame them one iota.

Understand that I typed this after picking myself up off the floor. After reading Saxon Pig's post, and AGREEING with it, I fell out of my chair. [:D]

Christ was born for illegal aliens as well as American citizens. Remember "for God so loved the WORLD that he gave his only Son."

    His only begotten son...

you are correct that He was born so that All could be saved...

'I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away.

It depends on what version you read. I don't own a copy of the KJV. My version says "one and ony Son" but that's pretty much assumed. I didn't have the book open when I typed it. The spirit behind it is the same.

maybe you should ask some of the veterns that fought over seas to see how innocent those poor little kids can be

I'm one of those, and did it as a Marine. I still support the program because it's goal is not to create those kind of children in the first place, and to open the eyes of those who might be heading that way. It's Christmas for heavens sake!

My wife's company raised almost $1,000.00 today for Toys for Tots. The company designated today as jeans day. For a minimum of $3 donation, employees can wear jeans instead of there normal/business dress code.

    Hey p3skyking,
Let's get it straight! I said,
quote:In a nutshell, if I could be certain that Toys for Tots toys were going ONLY American Citizens I would contribute. I have reason to believe, however that MOST are going to illegal aliens. You said, quote:Any particular color American that we should avoid, black, red, yellow, white, brown, or tan? I've never met a puppy or a child that I could be mean to regardless of their color or breed.

    Scrooge: Are there no prisons?
    Benefactor: Plenty of prisons.
Scrooge: And the Union Workhouses? YADDA, YADDA, YADDA!!!!!! Geez, p3skyking, Was that Ebeneezer Scrooge or Scrooge McDuck? I get those two mixed up.

I really think that what we have here is a failure to communicate. Or, was that fornicate? I keep getting those two mixed up, too!

PLEASE, I TRIED TO BE CIVIL, BUT THIS CRAP IS TO MUCH! So, p3skyking, do I have to give you reading lessons, too, along with lessons in logic?

I said American, without reference to racial or ethnic background. YOU said otherwise. You TRIED to pull the old Democrat/Socialist end-run, run-a-round, which consists of painting opponents in a bad light by appealing to emotional, irrelevant issues, or disseminating disinformation (lies) and hoping no one will notice. You fall into both categories.

I repeat.......Please do not support Toys for Tots OR ANY OTHER ORGANIZATION that cannot guarantee your support will only go to American citizens.
