My cat gave up the fight this morning

My oldest cat (13 yrs) gave up his fight this morning. The vet called and said that he died at about 0930. He was diagnosed with early stages of kidney failure about a week ago. My wife and I took him back to the vet yesterday for more treatment. We knew it was coming, but I guess we still weren't prepared. He was my "little buddy". My wife and I got him four months after we got married thirteen years ago, so he was a very big part of our family. Sorry to dump this in here, but I just needed to vent.

  All is fairly well in our household. I e-mailed a copy of "Rainbow Bridge" to my wife. She read it when she got to work this morning and quickly sent me a text message saying that I ruined her make-up (with HER tears)! We are still sad, but at least we know that he is no longer suffering. We've got two other cats, so part of him will love on in those two. Thanks again, EVERYONE, for all the thoughts and prayers. By the way...I forwarded the link to this thread to my wife and after reading it, she said to tell you guys "Thanks".
