Givaways................
Its amazing how many people come out of the woodwork to enter a giveaway here. They hardly ever post but are quick to jump in to the giveaway's.
Just an observation,

Oh yea, and a few of us with a low amount of postings have given away a couple of items as well.... I think I had a giveaway @ 200 posts if I remember right?????
It still boils down to the person holding the giveaway. They are in no way obligated to give any thing away and should be able to to make any stipulations that they want too.
If a newbe wants to hold one for those with less than 100 posts so be it. That is there choice.
And if the person who has 10000 posts wants to make one for only those with over 10000 thats fine too.
The person holding the giveaway has full control of any stipulations period.
The only thing all this bickering is going to do is get our right to giveaways taken away from us.[:(][:(][:(][:(]
And I agree with you... But why complaign about people coming out of the wood work if there are no such guidelines set... thats all I'm saying... I could care less myself....0 -
Oh yea...
I'm not bickering.... If I was I'd probably point out that there are several people that have 1000+ totally pointless posts!!![:p]0 -
When the give aways started they breifly carried the injuction that the winner of a give away must then follow with one of his own. I won a shotgun choke and followed with a give away of a couple of .22 rifle scopes. This quickly faded as people did not follow through. It is easy enough to place limits or requirements of say, member before Jan 1, 2007 or must have 50 or more posts, or must be under 14 as I have done on several of my give aways. I don't much want someone joining just to enter the give away, but I certainly don't mind if someone has fewer posts than I do, that would be almost every one. Sadly, some recepients don't even bother to let you know it arrived, or say thanks. That is why mostly, I have offered mine to help youngsters get started. I kind of figure it helped the kid, even if dad lacked enough class to say, thanks, it got here. 0 -

Some I enter, some I don't, and very few of my posts are worthwhile.[8D] 0 -
BR here...
If you dont want a "newbie" to win the giveaways, its a simple matter to look at the number of posts, THEN click on user profile....it lists the date the person joined....
For example, someone says they have been a member for years?....well you can call their bluff if you wish....profile lists the date JOINED...
Some have been a member for years, others are relatively new....post count means absolutely NOTHING to some of us...0 -
Maybe some guys don't have the time to sit and hammer out 10 posts a day, I know I sure don't. 0
