I met a rotten cop today
You know, one of those punks who wanted to be a state BOY and wound up a local cop, just out of the local community college and flunked the state police exam a couple times, with student loans to pay and all, took the job as a city cop to pay the bills but remains convinced that he deserves better and anything he says is gospel regardless of to whom he says it.
I was getting a cup of coffee on my way to work. I got out of my car wearing a clean white shirt and a pair of magenta pants. Piggy bpy was getting out of his cruiser and couldn't resist the opportunity to comment on my clothes. "Nice pants."
"They work for me," I muttered in dismissing him without the second's hesitation he clearly hoped would establish his "dominance." I continued without even being annoyed by his ignorance.
He got to the counter first and left. When I got to the counter I was met by the clerk who commented, "Guess he never saw scrubs before." My response was, "whatever," knowing I had a tough day ahead of me and that I have the ego boundaries to not let this jerk (the pig boy, not the clerk) make it a bad one before it started.
I thanked the clerk for mentioning that he has a lot of respect for people who work in hospitals, and that he knows that he couldn't do what I do. I told him that he shouldn't sell himself short before I left.
Something about hiding behind a badge makes the "job" so attractive to pigs. I worked with them for 9 months. Only a few were well adjusted people, most were so full of themselves that they didn't function well at all without the authority of their office.
I'm an RN, and I'm in the line of fire eevry day. Not good enough for ego boy, I guess. Without the clerk's praise I would have just written it off to some other ignorant meanie wannabe pig and forgotten about it.
Doing what I do I am faced with the fact that many in the medical field aspire to work here first for power and secondly for humanitarian reasons. Knowing this I remain convinced that positions in law "enforcement" are attractive to those who share that former drive.
I ran into a bad cop today. Who can say where he will burn out? He has proven himself unfit where I am concerned. I'm certain that there are worse than him, not certain as to just how bad he can be.

Is it OK to call a pig sir? 0 -
Sure, just as it is OK to address a RN as "nurse so-and-so." 0 -
This guy is a nurse and he's making generalizations about police officers. Hah-hah-hah. That's funny. Perhaps ironic.
Have a nice day.0 -

Are you suggesting that there are unfit nurses? I couldn't agree more, however you won't see as many in the news as you will see corrupt leos.
To many nurses, especially the older ones, the job is attractive because it is, in a sense, one of power. The same is true of law enforcement, and any such position attracts those who would bolster an inadequate ego with a position of power.
Still, I will not defend an unfit nurse as will those in law enforcement defend an unfit sir.0 -
you mean to tell me it honestly never crossed your mind that wearing pants made of magenta color may cause a reaction from a friend or co worker at least?
i wouldn't make it out of the house, both my sons and my wife would not pass up an opportunity like that, but i'm sure of my sexuality, and a man so it would not bother me0 -
I had a similar experience about 8 years ago. However the outcome was totally different. I had finished a charity golf tournament in which I had worn some very loud purplish pants. We were asked to dress outlandish anyway, that was the theme (I paid good money for those ugly pants I have never worn again). Anyway, after the match I stopped off at the local convenience store to get a Gatoraide and peanuts to nibble on my way back home (45 miles away). As I enter the store there was one of the local cops at the register talking to the clerk and drinking a coffee. He looked my way as I entered and I knew he was going to say something in reference to my attire. "Whoa turn it down a few notches there big boy" (I was and still am 6' 4" 225lbs). I looked directly at him and walked back over to both of them and glared for a moment and thought about how to respond. I said, "I have just played 36 holes of golf and am completely worn out. But I would welcome another 18 and would play it if you would join me". He stepped away from the counter and came along side of me. He said he had never played a game of golf and would be no competition. He didn't know that I actually sucked real bad at my golf game and could probably play me better than he though but I was going to give in. I responded, "Tennis then?" "Nope, never played much tennis", he said. I looked down and noticed he had a Glock as his service weapon. I thought for another moment and muttered a few things then said to him. "I'll bet you $20 I can outshoot you with both of us shooting your own Glock." He froze and a huge smile came across his face. He said, "You are on big boy."
By now the clerk was laughing and giving this officer encouragement about whopping my tail. We agreed on one round of 14 shots for each and total the points. He said there was a local range less than 2 miles away and he would provide the ammo. I agreed. I had to wait until he got off duty in an hour and a half so I had supper at the local fast food burger joint. I met him at 6:15 pm and before I knew it there were 2 extra cops and the manager of the convenience store. I laughed and we all greeted each other and exchanged names. They had set up 2 targets side by side at 30 feet. I told them to go back to 60 feet and we would compete. Nope he didn't want it that far, so we finally ended up at 40 feet. He told me to go first and I declined.
As my wife knows, I don't bet except on sure things or things I have a great control over. He went ahead and shot his 14 rounds and we all went down and totaled his score. It was fairly high with several rounds in the x ring. He did scatter a few rounds but overall it was good. We walked back and they all were ribbing me about beating his score. I was labeled "blossom" by one of the officers, since he said I looked like one of the flowers currently in bloom. Two more cops arrive as we walk back to the shooting station so I know word has spread about our shoot off. He loads the mag up for me and hands me the gun and mag. I set them down and take my hearing protection off and walk by to my SUV. I proceed to open my gun case and remove the compensated barrel and slide from my Glock. I walk back over and start to remove his barrel and slide and all heck breaks loose. He claims that I can't do that. But I point out that I will still be using his gun and that is what we agreed on earlier. His buddies go crazy with laughter and now have turned on him. They agreed that I was right. He gets mad but accepts the challenge and throws his $20 on the bench and says that it is not a fair test. Again, I told him we agreed on the bet and I may not be worth a crap anyway. Furthermore I had no idea where his gun would shoot with my barrel and slide on it. So it was not that badly balanced toward me. I shot my 14 rounds and we all went down range to total everything up.
I beat him by only 3 points. There were several holes that were too close and almost cost me points but the others said it was legit since they felt I had not missed paper on any shot. I collected my $20 and stayed around and laughed and chatted with everyone for another 30 minutes. Chip and I became friends that day and have only seen each other twice since then. But we both remember that hot sunny afternoon in May like it was yesterday. I don't live anywhere near him anymore but often wonder how he is doing.
Until you know someone, please don't rush to judge. Although many cops often have a condescending attitude, they are real people like you and me - Good - Bad and In Between.0 -
They always make a comment about me,[8D] if I wear cloths or if I don't [;)]
I can't win[:)] but if they talk abut me they will leave someone else alone[:D]

People that walk around with a chip on their shoulder will always find a way to be insulted no matter what is said to them. 0 -
Blckhrn- You're a real hoot. You get all bent out of shape over somebody saying nice pants and then you turn around and call people really insulting names.
I hate hypocrites worse than anything.
I will not miss you.0 -

I don't know enough about it to dispute your opinion. It's not the first time I was misled on the internet. [:D]0 -

Nah! It's fuchsia [;)].0 -
Now I'm so damn confused I'll never know what magenta is. 0 -
It would probably worry me if I could flawlessly differentiate between Fuchsia and Magenta.[:D]
However, I can recognize Chartreuse because it is my favorite color Mepps and just an overall good color for Bass baits.[8D]0 -
magenta pants! arn't they the type britches that holds his pliers, forceps and duct tape 0 -
If I was that cop and suffering from some kind of injury, I would tell the ambulance driver to by-pass the hospital where he works and drive to the next one.
No telling what kind of treatment I would get. Thats one angry RN.0 -

"Nice pants."
Go home, pop a Bud, and take a Valium. You need some rest.0 -
Don't forget to put on your magenta panties...[:)] 0 -
The dude twists off like this like clockwork. He gets everyone's attention, disappears for awhile, then slowly and politely starts posting again. Alas, the slow-nice way proves too much for poor BLKHN, and like a snowball rolling down hill he swells in anger, and then crashes again.
Quite entertaining really. I mean, you can't buy this stuff!
VIVA BLACKHORN!!
