vasectomy anyone?
was wondering if anybody else has had a vasectomy done? just had mine done this a.m. and so far so good, a little sore but that's to be expected. also how soon were you back on your feet and doing normal stuff, my doc said stay put for 2 days.

Had an "emergency V-section*" done myself about 12 years ago...*4 kids, end of the year with deductibles met. Mine was one of the rarer sort that required out-patient day surgery. Fully under for the whole thing. Came home same day, no probs. NEXT day, while showering, almost passed out. Went back to bed but was good to go two days later. You can do it--just not too soon.[;)][:p] 0 -
Had mine done Friday AM like you. Stayed down pretty much all Friday, Saturday and Sunday trying to be a good patient. Used an ice bag Friday and Friday night. Keep plenty of reading material and DVDs handy! Went back to work on Monday, and by 4:00 was getting kind of uncomfortable and went home. By Tuesday I could confirm everything still worked. Keep the sutures clean.

Boy I'm thinking about doing it, and I'm scared as hell to be quite honest. My brother in law said he was walking bow legged for a few days and that's all. He did mention stirrups and that just doesn't sit well in any kind of way with me for some odd reason. I guess sitting like that is to vunerable to me. 0 -

Two words: frozen peas. Get a bag of small frozen peas, use it as an ice pack, it conforms around where you need it. You will be good to go in a day. 0 -

I also used the frozen peas with fine results. I had the operation done on a Wednesday afternoon and was out playing golf on Saturday morning without any problems. Mrs K already had our two girls when we married and although we talked about another child of "our own" it soon became clear that our two daughters were plenty and the easiest course of action was snip-snip.0 -
29 years ago. One of the best things I ever did. Ask my wife. Was sore for about a year (unusual) but not horrible pain and certainly worth the peace of mind. 0 -

Had my vasectomy about 28 years ago ..... had it done on a Friday. Spent the weekend watching football, went back to work on Monday.
The bag of frozen peas is good advice!0 -
11 years ago for me , no problems , had it done in the morning and was helping my brother put new brakes on his Mack log truck that afternoon , i didn't help alot but was up and going .
now if you want to make it easier getting it done, have your wife go alone , my wife was by my side right thru it , chating to the Doc as he worked , also take along a set of headphones and some thing that will play music for you to listen too , that way you can totally zone out
look at it this way whats a few hours of minor pain compared to a life time of no worry0 -
...not just "no", but hell no! I know this is probably not the norm but...2 of three friends that had that done...ooooh-weeee!!!!
...the last one had it done in the morning, fell asleep in a recliner in his robe and woke up 2-3 hours later and was hurting BAD. He reached down to check out the "boys"...and he did not have to reach far!!
...they had swelled up the size of a volley ball!!!![:0][B)][:D][:D][:D]
...had to set there for another 2 hrs ([:D]) until his wife got home to call 911...he could not get up!...something had come "loose" and he was bleeding, OUCH...[B)][;)]

You guys didn't have the wife hollering at you that evening to hand over the peas cause she needed some veggies to serve with supper did you?
When our last boy was born and the following day the wife went in and had that factory turned into a play ground. I was in the Army then, and there are too many horror stories of Army doctors. A excellent German doctor performed the surgery on the wife.0 -

30 yrs ago also. No problems. Use the icepack (+2 on the frozen peas) and take it easy for two days. Know one idiot that drove home, and while still numb, decided to cut the grass. He did regret that! 0 -
a big yes on the peas thing, i bought 2 bags of frozen peas on the way home, rotate them out of the freezer, when one is thawed trade it for the one in the freezer and keep the remote handy! i was awake for the whole thing and me and the doc talked about fishing the whole time, his lovely assitant was cracking up and said she couldnt believe we were talking fishing while this was all going on ... when she first took me into the room she asked me to undress from the waist down and cover up with a towel, when she came back in the room she asked me to lie back and she covered me with a big absorbant blue sheet and then proceeded to wipe me down with betadine. Afterwards she said well you're all ready to go, i couldnt help myself..... i said back to her * hell i didnt even have to buy you dinner first* I did kinda feel like i had just gotten a freebie with all the rubbing and scrubbing LOL[:D] 0 -

just over 2 years ago for me. one of the best things i ever did. i was put completely out because i had a tight cord, or small pecker don't know which one it was. 0 -
Had mine done almost ten years ago now. Stay off your feet for three days, use ice packs and pain killers. Don't try to do too much too soon. They don't shave you anymore, so you don't have to worry about that. 0 -
Don't mean to scare any one but I had mine done about 21 yrs ago and have had no problems but after the doc gives you the numbing shot and waits a few minutes and says are you ready tell him to wait a few minutes more. When my doc hit me with the knife I flinched, His reply was,"you felt that?" I said yes so he said maybe we will wait a couple more minutes. 0
