New Car Dilema
I dont know what to do. I want a new car/truck/SUV. Right now I have a 2000 F-150 4x4. It gets horrible gas mileage but still runs well. I hate parking it and I hate paying for gas. I want either a newer smaller truck or a midsize SUV. Choices are a new toyota Tacoma 4x4 or a Nissan Xterra. I think I want an SUV but I know it will be about $5,000 more than the truck.
Are the Xterra's actually rugged and tough or is it just a new marketing ploy by Nissan ? I want to do offroading but nothing serious.
Oh and I am also just thinking about keeping my truck cause I dont want to pay for something new. I hate spending money.

If you choose to buy, go with Toyota, especially the 4-door. Look at the resale value on 4x4 Toyotas. Unbelievable resale!
Here we go again Let's all reward them for this/////
What's this B.S. have to do with the original thread? Even a moderator had to throw his 2 cents in. What's wrong with you people today? OJMayo started a thread regarding a Nissan and a Toyota and you, in your infinite wisdom, had to throw in a picture of a horrible incident that occurred over 60 years ago. Some of you need to take anger management courses and "get over it". Nothing but bickering and snide remarks in this forum today. My daddy, God rest his soul, always told me to "never argue with ignorance----it's a losing battle".
Evidently Your daddy was right , Cause there are an awful awful lot of Ingorant Americans driving around in Japanese cars. What a waste, fight them for four years at a cost of a million American lives just to have their Grand kids give the freaking country to them... You are damn straight about ignorance buddy... but don't be looking my way, look in a freaking mirror....0 -
There is actually only one solution.
USA must team up with us europeans or you WILL be smoked soon.
Crappy dollar ,bad mortages How to compete with chinese and maintain our decent wages.(our like in us westerners standard of life maintained by our paychecks).0 -
By American, the auto industry needs your help!
Or if for some strange reason you want higher quality buy a Toyota.
Though I have heard that Chevy quality is improving.0 -
I bought a 2006 Ford Escape back in August. It is a stripped model with a 4 banger and five speed manual tranny. Nothing fancy, but it gets 29 MPG on the highway and averages 25.9 for me driving to and from work including city and rual highway driving.
It handled some light off road work during whitetail season and it is big enough for my two teenage sons to ride comforably in the back.
Caught one of those 72 month, no interest deals they were running last year and put zero down on it.
So far after putting 13,000 miles on it, I am really happy with it.0
