Neither, I am observing the way you like to stir the pot. I have no beef with Lowes. I have an account and buy quite of bit off of them. I got a contractors discount yesterday and they even gave me a $10 receipt to use in the store. [:D]

In order to qualify as "family trees," wouldn't they have to have limbs strong enough to hang your relatives on? [:D]

With out stirring the pot as you say Select Fire that's why were in the shape were in. Just stand by and say nothing about our traditions and way of life and we've lost. Stand on the slde line Select let some of us try to save America.

Sorry that doesn't fly with me, screw them if they want my business and are ashamed to call it a Christmas tree and what next. You had better buy more to make up for some of us that will take our business where they have Christmas trees.

What shape is that? So you want Lowes to give up their First Amendment right to be able to call them what they want? Right !!! What fantasy land are you living in?

I think the problem here is that these corps want to profit from our Holy day, but they do not want to recognize it. The holiday in question is not "family day", it is Christmas, the day we celebrate the birth of our Lord. If Lowes or anyone else does not want to participate in the celebration than thats cool, but to change our Holy day, and not even use the word Christmas, like its saying the F word, or worse yet the N word, its pretty offensive. We don't ask that anyone celebrates this day with us if they don't want to, but don't try to change it into something that its not. Think they will next change Kwanzaa to "dead relative day"?

I am not offended by them calling it Family Tree one bit. They can call it anything they want. That is the price of Freedom. It is their loss or gain. Christmas time is Family time. Any debate on that?

It makes me sick to see a major company like Lowes kow-tow to liberal political correctness and to take the word "Christmas" out of Christmas.

It may be a Holy day for some, but the birth of Christ was in April. The chuch (you know the one) moved it to the winter solstice in order to co-opt the pagan mid-winter holiday. I like Christmas, and put up an artificial tree each year, and we have more boxes of decroations than I can lift. It will always be Christmas, though for me not a holy day. Loewe's can do what they like, I think political correctness is fascism, but it is their right to look like deer in the headlights if they choose.

I don't buy believing Lowes was forced to do anything

This jerks my chain. It's not the name, but the reason behind the change. Try this on Ramadan, and you get your head cut off. What a bunch of idiots we are.

If more people would stand up and say ENOUGH - Lowe's might listen. Lowe's PR and marketing are most likely a bunch of secular progressives with an agenda to take any relationship to Christianity out of everyday life. Yep that $10 would make me turn my back on my beliefs and go with the flow - NOT. I turned in my Lowe's card last year when they started this crap. I told my local manager what I had done and he agreed that it was a step in the wrong direction for corporate to choose such a dangerous path.

It offends me NOT because it isn't "Christmas" AT ALL, but simply because it is just STUPID to even worry about "offending" someone. Screw you, get offended once in a while, it does your heart good!

I'll tell you why they call them "Family Trees". They are trying to keep it a happy title but they have to deal with j*ck*ss pr*cks who have nothing better to do then email them gripes about the semantics they use. I spent $250 there last week and I'm heading back to spend more money next week just to show my solidarity.

If you want them to call it a "Christmas Tree" then you need to stop b*tching about it. B*tching just fuels the political controversy over the whole subject. Seems pretty dead horse if you ask me. Go Lowe's!!! I want a Quanza tree this year! I want a tree that was grown to be sold just to Black Jews!

Hey, I'm a church kind of guy and I couldn't agree with you more. I'm a member of the "Religious Right" or whatever BS cookie cutter mold they try to put me in this week. I think it's bunk. Guess What! The Christmas Tree is a PAGAN tradition!!! The very people that the Israelites were supposted to destroy utterly including women and children and animals (they were pagans) and the very people that want to put a pentacle in the town square along the Star of David, Manger and Crescent are pagans!

Isn't it ironic that Christians and other folks would get so wound up about the dang name (would a rose by any other name cease to be a rose). The pagans started the tradition of the Christmas tree so maybe we should just let them go ahead and kill the name if they want to! It's no big deal! Baby Jesus still came to save you from your sins!

Do you really think that Jesus Christ would approve of this nonsense? Wow we've parted from The Way. Christians get more wound up at Christmas time over symbols than they give a rats ass about the substance. Go spend Christmas in a soup kitchen or a homeless shelter or spend it over in Iraq. Maybe you'll come back to your senses.

Looks like Christmas Trees to me:

Funny in this Sunday's Lowes circular no mention of Family Trees.. Some artificial ones, wreaths, Santa on a blow up airplane, Nascar and Disney ornaments.. but NO mention of Family Trees. Are you sure you didn't go to Family Dollar Store ?

My problem with this mess is that the SP liberals have turned GOD's name or His Holy day into some sort of profanity because someone might just be offended. If they can't call the holiday by its name, Christmas, then don't recognize it at all. Instead of trying to change it to some generic day that will appeal to the SP crowd.

I totally agree, but it's a little hard for me to get fired up about the trees and Santa Clause since they don't really have anything to do with Christmas anyway.

I just typed in Christmas in their search engine, and came back with 174 hits.
I shop at Lowes almost weekly, and don't plan on stopping, unless someone has a lot more evidence.

This may be a store to store policy like WalMart and Christmas. I was in our local WalMart only this morning and there was Christmas stuff everywhere and it isn't even Thanksgiving yet. Also, Christmas music blaring and the word Christmas posted all over. On the other hand in another WalMart in a town 30 miles away day before yesterday, not a single mention of Christmas could be found. However, plenty of "Holiday Greetings" signs were everywhere. No trees yet, though.

Let's all give these idiots a MERRY CHRISTMAS by not buying anything there. Maybe they will get the message.
