A vote for Ron Paul in the primaries is not a vote for Hillary.
He needs to win the primaries.
If he doesn't win the party, then you can claim hes taking away votes that could have been used to defeat Hillary.
However, I wouldn't have voted for Bush last time (although I did get taken in and would have cast a vote for him over Gore in 2000).
I won't vote for Fred or Gulliani this time. Don't know enough about Tancredo.
The Repubs don't have my vote to start with- Ron Paul can get it for them.
Heck he even has a chance of winning California, both the R primary, and the state. Of registered CA repub voters, over 50 now think the war was a bad idea. The state is only like 55%-45% democrat in elections anyway.
Ron Pauls record on the war trumps Hillarys, if her platform is "the war is bad", she won't have a platform to run on against Ron Paul, and a lot of independants see her for what she is... a power hungry person who will do anything to get it- Become senator of a state she doesn't live in, suck up to Bill after Monica just got done sucking him.
She is also spineless and voted for the war, and then played dumb afterwards- Shes either stupid, a wuss, or both.
Hillary is not fit for presidency, and given a viable choice (Ron Paul) I think we could gain the 5% needed to take CA from the Dems.
Ron Pauls Poll Results:
Name Date Rank Percent
Maryland Straw Poll 9/3/2007 1 27.3%
Texas Straw Poll 9/1/2007 3 16.7 %
Palmetto Family Council Straw Poll 9/20/2007 2 33 %
Allegheny County, Pennsylvania 8/26/2007 1 45.2 %
DeKalb County, Georgia Straw Poll 8/25/2007 1 24 %
Ronald Reagan Club (Washington) 8/21/2007 1 28.0%
West Alabama 8/18/2007 1 81.2%
Strafford County, NH 8/18/2007 1 72.2%
Gaston County, NC 8/14/2007 1 36.6%
FreedomWorks Straw Poll 8/3/2007 1 56 %
Georgetown County, SC 7/28/2007 2 17.9%
New Hampshire Taxpayers 7/7/2007 1 65.3%
National Taxpayers Union 6/16/2007 2 16.7%
Utah GOP convention 6/8/2007 2 5.4%
He isn't a hopeless candidate, and don't listen to those 3% figures, there are so many candidates in the running, you'll note he took 2nd in Utah with only 5.4%
He is a solid candidate that the media is trying to ignore because no big business has him in their pocket, unlike the other major candidates.
Ron Paul's Head-to-Head Records (Win-Lose-Tie):
Rudy Giuliani 21-3-0
Mitt Romney 14-10-0
Fred Thompson 11-12-0
John McCain 21-2-0
Mike Huckabee 19-3-1
Sam Brownback 20-2-1
Tom Tancredo 21-1-0
Duncan Hunter 20-2-0
So far, only Fred has beaten him in pre election polls, and not by that much.
Keep in mind, Ron Paul may not do great within his own party, but when you go nationwide in an election involving all parties- this is where he can really shine.0 -

Funny when asked to explain their logic 99% won't, or can't. Quick comments only get you so far, after awhile they make you look like you haven't thought enough to back up your opinion. In my opinion being spoon fed and not using the head God gave you.0 -

Giuliani or Clinton.. is there really much of a difference?
[/quote]
There's a huge difference. A Sentator does not govern and has no experience that makes her prepared to be Commander-In-Chief. Governors have experience in an executive type of position as do Mayors of large cities like NYC. I'd be a hell of a lot more comfortable with Giuliani than Hillary. If you can't see Hillary as the worst-case scenario then I don't know what else I can say. Thinking that Ron Paul or some other lightweight can beat her if we all just...fill-in-the-blank......is nothing more populist rhetoric. A break-off by someone like Ron Paul to run as an independent will merely hand the presidency over to Hillary on a silver platter. The Republican party isn't as conservative as it once was but you don't fix that by voting "none of the above" which is essentially what you are doing with a Ron Paul vote assuming the "break-off" scenario. Democrats, as a whole, are a whole lot more liberal as a group than Republicans are conservative. The Democrats have shown over and over again that they are more capable and willing to set aside personal differences to get behind winning candidates. Republicans suck when it comes time to do that.
For someone who can't see a Hillary or Obama presidency as truly a worst-case scenario then I don't know what to say. Rudy may not be truly conservative but he isn't the government-knows-best socialist that Hillary is. I think the stock market trembles at the thought as well.0
