Gunbroker keeps serial numbers?
I got a phone message from Gunbroker wanting the serial number of a handgun I purchased last year for their records. I was under the impression that they were what their name implies a broker of guns not record keepers. I have not returned their call yet, it just struck me a little strange that they are keeping names and numbers.
Anyone have any input or info on this.

Call gunbroker yourself and get some info. Dont give it to whoever called you. Call GB tech support or customer service. 0 -
What number did they give you to call back? Do a reverse telephone lookup.
I also think it's some kinda scam.
Post the number.0 -
Are you on a fishing expedition here.?.? I can almost GAURANTEE you that you did not receive a phone call from Gun Broker. 0 -
lol, definately post the phone number they called from. But really what could some one do with your guns SN, maybe report it stolen? 0 -
I cannot see GB would do this...or even want to do this...!!!!
I too suspect foul play!!!!0 -
I doubt GB could care less the ser.#..of any guns they broker. 0 -
I have bought a number of guns of GB and never ask for the numbers 0 -
They dont give a rats rear end about SN#'s aslong as they get their money from the deal 0 -

Been buying & selling on GB since they started, it is none of their (GB's) business what the SN's are, post the call back number.

He ain't going to post a callback numbert because he never got such a call!
This guy is fishing!
Sorry but something just tells me this! The guy is a NUBEE and asking a question about the auction side that everyone here knows would never happen! That smells of BS!0 -

Gunbroker is not an FFL so how would they have serial numbers? 0 -
He is trying to get a phone number to call GB.
I think he needs to be booted, right away.

Mr. Knowitall seems to not knowitall![:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]0 -
you guys are terrible, maybe someone not from gb did call him, to many scam artist out there to call him a thief at this point
he got a "message" from gb, possible could be the seller who has made a error in their records, if anyone here where to call another member it would be possible to identify your self as "this is 1911a1fan from gb"
but now that he has been called a thief, and a liar i doubt if we will ever know the truth, the use name has been a user on the auction side for 7 years, i know that may not mean much but it works both way0 -
thats why i said i hope some one did call him. 0 -
..Im doing a Survey On Personal Debt and the most Widely used Bank.
...So if everyone would please post theit CC number (dont forget the 3 digit verification number on the back!) I would appreciate it. Also, the name of your bank, account and routing number.

if GB was trying to contact him for whatever reason, don't you think they'd send an email instead of a phone call? 0 -

I called the number this morning and it was in fact a Dealer that is being autited by the ATF. His form is missing a serial number of a handgun I purchased on Gunbroker last year.
A misunderstanding of his voice message on my part.
This will be my last post on this forum. The attitude of the members that replied here took me by surprise. I will not allow this forum the opportunity to talk down to and falsely accuse me again.

OK bye bye
I smell BS now, I can't imagine a dealer not entering a SN in the logbook, or not having a record of it anywhere.

Don
Don,
Of course you can't imagine it. You are not a dealer.
Can you imagine someone who wears sunglasses while driving ever forgetting them?
You folks that are so quick to rush to a conclusion should NEVER be on a jury, it's much too important a position.0
