Gunbroker keeps serial numbers?
I got a phone message from Gunbroker wanting the serial number of a handgun I purchased last year for their records. I was under the impression that they were what their name implies a broker of guns not record keepers. I have not returned their call yet, it just struck me a little strange that they are keeping names and numbers.
Anyone have any input or info on this.

P3Skyking........ I have to agree. As skeptical as I usually am. I have to give this guy the benefit of the doubt.
He may have misunderstood the phone message and thought it was GB calling him, thats easy enough to do.
And its possible the dealer screwed up. I have had them put incorrect serial numbers on my paperwork when buying a gun or omit it when they thought the gun had no number only to find out later it had a number.0 -

I concur. People actually do make mistakes on paperwork, just ask any ATF or IRS compliance inspector. SOG once sent me the wrong numbers on paperwork too. No big deal if you catch it, but it's not the end of the world if you don't.0 -

P3, I am a dealer, I have held a 01 license off & on since 89, I have had errors on 4473's, but my log has never been questioned, you look at your log entries twice, going in and going out, no SN is a big flag, even on firearms with no SN you would mark N/A for SN not leave a blank.
