MVP: The Safeways I have bought fried chicken gizzards from tend to not deep fry them until the batter is crisp which is what really makes the difference between good fried gizzards and not so good fried gizzards. Another thing is I always order them freshly cooked, and open the to-go sack to let the heat escape which will soften the batter if left closed. Even then, my wife will often fry them in the skillet once we get home in order to crisp-up the batter and ensure that the gizzards are not undercooked.0 -
I'll bring the hot sauce and let's go MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM[:D][}:)][:D][}:)] We have Go Chicken Go up here and they are goooooooooooooood Livers are better. 0 -

Throw 'em out if you don't have the Ketchup and Tobasco!0 -
Sorry, I wouldn't eat Gizzards with someone else's mouth. Might as well be eating a fried rubber grommet![xx(] 0 -
Par-boil them and then fry, or pressure cook them. Pressure cooked gizzards with a good gravy and doused with a generous amount of Tobasco, and just the right amount of black pepper and salt makes for a pure hog heaven experience. 0 -

Seems like a lot of trouble to go to just to make a rubber like chicken part eatable! I don't think I'll be eating any more chicken gizzards in this lifetime![:D]0 -

That's how I like my carp too...and shoe leather. Do ya nail 'em to a board first? What about baking them in the oven at 500 for several hours? Then just toss 'em in the garbage...and eat the board?
[:D][:D][:D]
[:)] If you're preparing Carp, throw out the carp and the board and then shoot yourself after you dispatch the person who gave you the recipe! [:D][:D][:D] However, if you want a good wallow with the very best of of the East Texas Piney Wood Rooters, par-boil the gizzards til tender, or preesure cook several pounds of gizzards with a gravy and generous amounts of Tobasco, black pepper and salt...emphasis on Tobasco. "...East Texas Piney Wood Rooters"??
[:D]
[:)]Man! Ima havin' ta teech ya everthang taday. A piney wood rooter is a domesticated hawg gone wild, and oftentimes vicious. And, an East Texas piney wood rooter is a big 'un! Both need a good, cool, and very muddy waller after a good slop fest, at which time they tolerate human company by sharing their waller! Most such wallers are found under a good stand of Teoc.[:D][;)]0 -
I'll pass on the chicken gizzards.[xx(]
I used to have a German Shorthaired Pointer who would love gizzards.
I would remove them from bird and freeze them...he loved them frozen.
He'd even eat the paper wrapping and poop the paper out.0 -
Well , Not much better than chicken livers and hearts with hot sauce !
Thanks !!!

MVP, if the gizzards are "freshly fried" and with a "relatively crisp batter" that is not soft/mushy which indicates that they were not fired long enough, or on a high enough temperature, then they should be less greasy and better tasting.0
