I don't feel bad for the Duke Lacrosse players
I was in traffic today, and I saw a car with a Duke bumper sticker on it. Got me to thinking that I don't feel bad for these Duke Lacrosse players. Here's a list why:
1. They engaged in illegal or damn near illegal activity (I can't see how you can pay someone to strip, and she probably was offering services on the side);
2. You got a bunch of rich white kids who decided it woudl be fun to get a black stripper/hooker;
3. They had enough money and clout to beat the rap and get the prosecutor's license lifted;
4. They are going to land on their feet, if they haven't already;
5. You sleep with dogs, you get fleas.
There. Off my chest...

Hanging out with strippers??? where does that come in? They were hired to get naked and do some dances and tricks. Then they get their cash and roll out. OR, if they feel comfortable around the customers, they may hang out and drink a few beers or whatever,....saw this first hand( no offers for extra duty BTW). Nowhere in there is there anything illegal or evil. Not to mention DNA proved them all innocent.
The ho-bag was looking for a free ride,..and using a liberal mindset as well. They go to duke,..so I bet they will pay to make an accusation go away. However, when sticking to their guns and innocense, what happened to the prosecutions case?????? it dissappeared, just as it materialized from the mind of a liberal prosecutor incapable of looking at DNA first and foremost right off the bat.
If you havn't been to a top notch strip club (as admited), then you know very little about the amount of security that goes into making sure no "off limits" activities take place. And trust me,..when you see that guy in the hall, you forget about being bold.

In my profession I came across a lot of lawyers. They are not all bleeding hearts, bottom feeders or unethical. I met a lot of decent, conservative Christial men and women and one of my best friends is a Jewish lawyer.
It's a msitake to paint everybody with the same brush.0 -

WOW. It's like I'm not writing in English or something. I REPRESENT the guys who own strip clubs. I REPRESENT the women who work there. I deal with prosecutors day in and day out. I try on average about 4-8 cases a year, and have been doing it for 15 years.

Is Nifong REALLY any different from any other prosecutor out there? Ask any attorney friends out there how many times the prosecting authorities willingly give up exculpatory evidence. How many times do you see prosecuting attorneys give news conferences? ALL THE TIME! And should they? Of course not. There is a cannon of ethics that state that he's got to make sure that the Defendant gets a fair trial. How then can he go on TV and talk about the case? He's got a podium from which to speak, and your average shmo has NOTHING.
BTW, I'm not aware of any evidence that Nifong knew the charges were false.

My dad was a lawyer (well he still is I suppose). He's not unethical -- he jammed ethics down my throat since I was a kid. And, he's absolutely no bleeding heart. He isn't right on all the conservative positions, but he is right on about 90% of them.0 -

I've gone to plenty of strip clubs before I was married. I have yet to pay one for anything more then a dance.

Kodiakk, my logic is spot on. This wasn't a licensed strip club- a "stipper" was hired to come to their house, without any supervision, etc. Who did they think was going to come over? Royalty?
Why is it that the people who talk about "ambulance chasing attorneys" don't want to acknowledge that these kids are responsible for creating a situation where you could just see it ending badly? Seems to me that "ambulance chasing attorneys" are only trying to take those persons responsible for wrongdoing to task. But again, that's something that an "ambulance chasing attorney" would say.0 -
You know what Jgreen, you're right. Those guys did create a problem for themselves by hiring a lowlife stripper for some cheap thrills. But that doesn't justify what the accused had to go through afterwards. And it wasn't just the three defendants that were treated like crap, all the rest of the players and coaches got dumped on as well. And what about their families that had to go through this also? What about the financial burden? Can you throw away a million dollars the next time your kid gets in trouble?
Instead of opining about some guys who had a small error in judgement, how about pointing your finger at the real problems in this mess, i.e., the stripper, the prosecutor, the Duke U. administration, and the media which sensationalized the whole thing?0 -

A lot of lawyers would have us believe they work for justice. Hell, they even call our legal system a justice system. I don't think I have ever seen that from you and I appreciate that.0
