Watches....

Just on a whim I started looking for a simple watch that I can wear to work or out in the field. I have dress watches already. I just need one to beat around a little bit.

Anyone ever heard of Daich Watches?

I really like this watch but know nothing about them. I really don't know if I should trust a watch this cheap. It looks decent, but you'll never know. Does anyone make a watch similar to this that you know you could trust?

Edit: I don't like nylon or rubber

    Rolexes are not the best or most expensive watches, and they're certainly not the most stylish; but they are very good. Very rugged. I've seen a Submariner that looked as if it had been tossed in a gravel pit, and then the gravel was put into a cement mixer for a while. It was battered and the bezel was missing, but it kept going.

    But for the OP's purposes it might be a little much. [;)]

    Could be worse. He could have suggested an A. Lange & S?hne for about ten times more than a Rolex. [:o)]

    I have expensive dress watches, but when reaching into electrical compartments, I choose to have no jewelry on my hands, or arms.

    As DANO said "Swiss Army". Have had mine 15 years, plain watch with velcro band. been under water, in the mud, hit on rocks, never been protected. Changed the battery once. It tells the time.

    It's too bad neither "Swiss Army" makes a winding or self winding pocket watches. I haven't worn a wrist watch in couple of years and I don't have a cell phone so, I'm on Yoshi-time (as in I get there when I get there[:D]). I also like the carabeaner time piece but they too take in batteries. I just want a watch that needs to be wound up when I need a watch. But it has to be stainless and rugged (too much to ask for, eh?)[:D].

    +1 on this. I wear a Swiss Army that's automatic, titanium casing that's been through a lot of tough extremes, but of course, it was NOT cheap! [:)]

    Have had mine for over eight years and it has been through the mill and back. Clips to your belt or waist band (which I like for they do not get in the way when working on something or give off a flash when the sun hits them). Clip it to the sun visor, straps on a pack, ATV cables and just about anywhere you wish to keep it.

    They make two versions and I have the second, which has an LED display and a bunch of other features.

    They seem heavy at first when you wear one. but you soon get used to it.

    Like I said. They can take a beating and are about as tough as they come.

    I'm a pocket watch man. Haven't owned a wrist watch in almost 20 years. Are they more practical? No. Just cool.
