Gander Mountain
I went to Gander earlier to kill some time. While I was there I thought I would get some powder for reloading my 7mm Rem. so I get three pounds of IMR 7828 and then I noticed that the price had been blacked out with a marker. So I asked for a price check and they wanted $39.99 for a pound of powder!!
I knew that they were high but man now they have gone completely crazy.
I can get it at the local gun club for $22 per lb. I won't go back.

At last here in south central Kentucky. One opened in Bowling Green last week. I'm slow so I only found out this morning.

We're getting a Gander Mountain Store here in Texarkana Texas. I've never been to one before . Does anyone have one in their town and if so how do you like it?

I just ordered all the 3D archery targets from Gander Mtn. They had better prices then any one including ebay!!!![:0] I bought a Deer, turky, bear and howling wolf. Can't wait to get them installed at the club and start using them. 0 -
Stopped by the store near me, Lakeville MN, after some other errands in the area...wanted to see their new "state of the art" shooting range addition...what a joke...I walk over to the area reception counter, look to my left and through glass see what appears to be 5 lanes crammed in this "room"...I asked the guy working at the counter, "Is that the range?"...he replys "yes"...I ask how deep is that thing...he sez 30ft...I asked how much to shoot, he sez 29.00 an hour...I said really, turned around and left...they have been advertising this thing like crazy....very disappointing to say the least...[V] 0 -
What in the world is Gander mountain trying to do? The prices here are out of the world. $699.00 for a glock 23.
.45 Acp mega paks for 149.00 for 250 Rnds. The used guns are priced higher than what I can buy new at my local ma&pa store and online. They had a used 500 S&W for 1025.00 and the guy at the counter said the prices are firm.I told him no thanks...........0 -
Gander Mountain coming to Roanoke Va.This is great since the nearest Bass Pro is Charlotte,N.C. and Cabelas even farther.Who has a Gander Mtn. close by and how do you rate them? 0 -

on an 7600 Rem. carbine (the best
37 of have of 7 of them). Guy
looked at it and remarked "nice
gun", then looked closer and saw it
had one slide bar(standard) and
said that Gander Mtn. had a policy
that they could not take a gun with
just one bar because (get this) they warranty all used guns and if
the single bar breaks, they have a
warranty claim. I told him that I
had brought along a newish Model 94
but would'nt bother bringing it in
cause it only had one lever, one
trigger, and one barrel and surely
did'nt want them to take a chance on something like that! Incidently, this is'nt the first
time. I've taken NIB rifles in and
had the yokel look them up in their
Blue Book of Used Guns and offer

Went to our local Gander Mountain today to buy a new Nikon scope for a rifle. Salesperson got it out and let me look it over. Said I would take it, but needed to go back to the truck to get the rifle so they could mount and boresight it. He said, "That'll be an extra $25." Since when did anyone start charging to mount and boresight a scope that you buy from them? I refused to buy the scope, went down the road to a locally owned place, bought the same scope and they mounted and bore sighted at no cost to me. I have bought scopes at Gander in the past and they always did it for free. I am done with them, and just told them so in a letter to customer service. We'll see what happens! 0 -
Does anyone know what the deal is with their going out of business sale? Flyer says everything must go but it doesn't say how much of a discount they are offering. 0 -
We have one here in Chambg. PA.When it first opened their prices were high.But now they are competive and also have some great sales. 0 -
We recently got one here in Richmond. A decent selection, but prices are way too high and the people working there are goobers. They do not know much about the products they sell.
The Fredericksburg store has a better selection and better prices by far.
I'd the Richmond store more often if they were not ridiculously priced.

The one in Watertown, NY has a decent selection but, as with all box stores, the sales people rarely have much knowledge of what they sell. This includes the firearms/reloading section there. However, the archery section really has their stuff together. 0 -

a box store is a box store. rate them? i feel sorry for any town that gets ANY chain store, because it only means one thing....more are coming, and that little town you thought was quaint will be consumed by the generica monster and end up looking like an interstate exit.0 -
Gander in Greensboro, NC is a really nice store. Lots of guns and a full time gunsmith shop. Prices are not bad. I bought a lot from them in the early 70s when they did mail order. I've heard something about a Cabela's coming to the area soon. Been to Bass Pro in Charlotte (Concord actually). Their gun shop did not impress me. No where as much as Gander. I like Gander Mt., can't get the wife out of there when we go. 0 -
I can see what yer say,in bobski but 1,one,uno,single Gander Mtn. would be sorta nice.In 15 miles in any direction from here there are Wal-marts out the kazoo!Way too many.I do shop local small business sporting goods stores also and believe these have better guns.When Wal-mart gives a massive order for firearms,gun companies have to work hurredly to fill a quota.Maybe no difference,just my opinion. 0 -
One in Binghamton, NY has crazy high prices. Gun counter guys know about as much as a rubber ball about guns. 0 -

Have fun.... GM is disgustingly overpriced on everything in the store. A box of 50 9mm... cheapest in the store. Wal Mart up the street 15.72 will get you 100 rounds. Gun prices through the roof, do not even bother to look at the used guns because they are usually more than a brand new one. Reloading equipment is a joke there. Bullets alone usually cost more then the boxes of ammo would. I would care less if GM just disappeared. They used to be competitive, now I go there about once a month to laugh at prices. 0 -
+1......have one near me, was there today.. 50ct box of 41mag $59.95... most things are over priced unless they are having a "sale". nice place to visit, I don't do much buying there 0 -

I dont know.Pulled up their website and clicked on store locations and saw coming soon to Roanoke Va. Ill e-mail them to get a proposed opening date.Reading these posts sounds like some better than others.0 -

I hope the management at the Roanoke store conduct business well,the competition here is Dicks sporting goods chain,many many,Wal-Marts ,and a good selection of small business firearms dealers.There are a lot of Hunters,trappers,trap shooters and plinkers around here.0 -
We had a Gander mountain open in Baxter,Mn after two years one of the local big gun shop kicked there but on prices. so they bought out the other gun shop and jacked up the prices up 10-25% Most of the local customers are going else where to buy.just for a instance they have a New Springfield Armory m1a with a black fiberglass stock rest of the gun is the standerd rifle pice on it $1633.00 0 -
I can only judge Gander Mountain from the one we have here and it absolutely is not in the class of a Cabela's or Bass Pro Shops! However, they beat Wal-Mart and unless I have a need to drive 90+ miles to Cabela's or Bass Pro, they fill a need! 0 -
Gander Mountain sucks. The last time I went there and bought 5 items. When I got home I noticed I was overcharged on three of them! I emailed them and let them know I will no longer be a customer there. And I have spent more than my fair share in that store over the years. 0 -
I shop at the Fredericksburg, VA store. I've found some very nice bargains there. In general it is very well stocked. The staff that's been there a while is pretty knowedgable and friendly. I stop in every time I pass by to see what's new, especially in the used pistol display. Prices can be high, but as anywhere, one shops for the best deal, on the best product available. I like Gander Mountain.
GM matches prices by the way, so saying they are over priced is misleading. They even match Dick's ammo prices.0 -
