I give up! I'm just too picky and I think the perfect guy isn't out there. It's important that a guy keep up with me and it was important to my bf.
We went biking with some of my team mates. I never expected him to keep up and I really didn't want him to go. He went and yes we lost him, we've been racing for years, like we couldn't see that coming.
My team mates and I talked about swimming the Ohio. My bf knew he'd never make that swim, almost 2-3 miles.
He told me last night that he can't keep up with me and do the things I do. So we talked about just being friends. It really hurts because I really like him and I thought this could go somewhere.
I'm just lost today.

Won't voluntarily go in water over my head (almost drowned -- I don't like water, period, other than for washing, cooking, or drinking) -- don't ride bicycles or motorcycles (any more -- too much tendency to fall go boom) -- prefer flintlocks to any form of semi-auto -- not overly competitive -- 45 to CGR's (I'm guessing) twenty-something.

I needed to vent and GB is a good place to do so. I get alot of good advice here. As always there are some good advice here.
I know that my short post does make me sound shallow. I didn't want to go into a long post.
This break up was more his idea than mine. It actually kind of took my by surprise. I just went with it.
His view is that, I've made alot of plans with my team mates. Including our spring swim of the Ohio and some other events.
I will be digging boats and Rv's out of my storage for people soon.
The Dino race series starts soon. With my jobs, trucks pulls, and atv events. He feels that since he can't do these thing with me he won't be able to spend as much time with me as we both would like. And he's right but I didn't have and good answers for this.
I just don't know what to say. He feels he needs to be able to keep up with some of the things I do, if he wants to spend time with me.
I don't have the answers. I just don't know what to do. I would be nice if he could keep up. If that sounds shallow than I guess I'm shallow.
He did call me today and we ended up going for a motocycle ride. It was very nice. Also we talked on the phone for over and hour, so who knows maybe we'll work something out. I am going to the shoot guns tommorrow and he's going.

I am not sure how old this relationship is, but both parties must realize a few things. There is exactly no one like any one else in the world, and that all relationships are a COMPROMISE.
Secondly, all relationships take time and work. Those not willing to take the time, and put the effort into it, will not prosper from it. When I say those, I mean BOTH parties.
Think of it as a blessing, of him not being able to keep up(for right now) with you physically, and that there are most likely some things he does that you will not like to do, or not be able to grasp immediately. This gives the relationship someplace to grow and nurture itself. Besides, you don't always want to be up each other's butt 24/7/365 do you?
It kind of sounds like this relationship is really in its infancy, and you two need to let it GROW. Be willing to GIVE and TAKE. You will be surprised at what will become of it.0 -

Sounds like the guy is the one with the problem if he thinks he needs to excell in your interests in order to date you. Feels like maybe he is a tad insecure about you going places and doing things with your friends. Maybe you can reassure him somehow that you can still be what he needs without him trying to be what you are. Personally, I wouldn't waste my time if he isn't emotionally developed enough to let you do your thing on your own. Even marriage doesn't mean being attached at the hip 24/7. To attempt that is to doom the relationship from the start. The beauty of the thing is that you each have your own interests and things you excell at and through the relationship share the combined abilities and knowledge to the benefit and enjoyment of both.
