I give up! I'm just too picky and I think the perfect guy isn't out there. It's important that a guy keep up with me and it was important to my bf.
We went biking with some of my team mates. I never expected him to keep up and I really didn't want him to go. He went and yes we lost him, we've been racing for years, like we couldn't see that coming.
My team mates and I talked about swimming the Ohio. My bf knew he'd never make that swim, almost 2-3 miles.
He told me last night that he can't keep up with me and do the things I do. So we talked about just being friends. It really hurts because I really like him and I thought this could go somewhere.
I'm just lost today.

If you like him that much, work it out. Also, why do you have to do everything together? If a relationship is going to work, space is needed every now and then. If you go out and bike or swim with friends, do something together with him after you get done or maybe the next day. I'm young and been married for 3 years, we do alot together but definitely do our own things now and then. I like hunting and she likes scuba diving & skiing. It can be done.0 -

What's more important to you, the ultra active lifestyle or your relationship? Is it imperative that he participate in all of these activities? Maybe you need to hang out at the Olympic training facility to find a suitable mate?
I'm no shrink, but it sounds to me like you are looking for a mirror image of yourself. If a man doesn't share YOUR exact interests and have YOUR exact capabilities then you lose interest.
My wife and I do some things together and some things separately.
I accept the things about her that I don't like because I love her and in the context of that love those things become too minor to worry about. I'm sure she does the same with me.0 -

CGR, do you talk about your life because you want advice, or because you seek attention? I belive it must be the latter.
If you were really serious about seeking for love, you wouldn't seem so shallow.
My wife cannot psyically do many of the things I do, hell, most people can't do them either. I don't expect her or anyone else, for that matter, to do so. I don't look down on anyone for it.
I love my wife for whom she is, all faults considered. (I by the way have more faults than she could ever have) My love for her nullifies any shortcomings (perceived or real). My wife completes me, and that takes a huge something to do. I realize after marrying her, just how imcomplete I WAS. Our marrage is a non-compete thing. Partners DON'T compete with each other to prove worth.
If your really looking for a partner (husband, serious interest, ect.), you need to evaluate just exactly what QUALITIES that person needs to posses. Psyical abilities should not even be on that list.
Funny thing is, you couldn't keep up with me. A guy like me wouldn't even consider a gal like you based SOLELY on your attitude and expectations. Perhaps you should reconsider how you speak about things and evaluate if your being selfish and self rightious. A "perfect man" could spot you a mile away.0 -

Is this a person who, say for instance, I was with, and I was in a horrible mangling car wreck, or was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to loose a boob, or somthing like that, and ended up somewhat less physically less than I was when he signed up for the package deal, would still love me in spite of my imperfection?0 -
