This is disturbing to watch. I'm surprised it wasn't picked up by the national media. At least they didn't taser the lady. What is going on in this country that excuses can even be made for this sort of thing? What's with the skinhead county police? Most of the police I've known have been regular neighbors. Just coincidence probably but Stark County, Ohio, where this occurred, is where Diebold has it's headquarters. Thank goodness, the local news reporters were doing their job and our laws still allow them to do so.

    If that was my wife, and she had done absolutely nothing wrong, there might be some dead, fat, skinhead cops.

    Edit: Before someone makes the comment,.......I know I would be dead also.

    In general I like and respect the police, I follow the law and had no trouble with my little college town cops,
    but in this case, IMO, time for the "tungsten chef" to order up some copburger:

    I'm having trouble imagining how the brutality inflicted on the subject can be justifed.

    All deputies involved should be prosecuted, the sheriff should be dismissed, and as a juror I would support an award for several hundreds of thousands of dollars in civil court.

    if you go to Utube there are several other users who have the video.

    Truly disgusting. I know a lot of LE officers, and work with them on a daily basis on calls that we run out of my firehouse. A good number of them I know are truly "stand-up" guys, and straight as an arrow.

    However, there is a segment of the LE community that are ego-driven, power-craving maniacs, and will use their authority in the abuse of civil liberties. This reminds me of the video from New Orleans LA after Katrina hit. The video shows several good-sized, stalwart LE officers knocking an elderly lady to the floor and taking her only means of defense. She never presented a threat.

    What is amazing to me is that some in LE will target and go after individuals like the lady in the video or the lady in New Orleans, but when it comes to going after thugs, gangs, drug pushers, and others in the criminal element, they will not lift a finger. Why is that? Is it that they prefer "soft-targets"?

    It'll be interesting to see how the Sheriff's Office handles this.

    Granted, we're only allowed to see the video the TV station wants us to see...but that's a nightmare scenario for anybody.

    In the news link the video didn't play (dialup), but the audio alone would've

    that is one of the most discusting things i have ever seen.
    i dont know what will happen there, but if it happened here, the cops onvolved would be dismissed instantly!
    i doubt if it would get to coulrt for a civil case, it would most likely be settled out of court for 1 million +
    and the cops involved would serve a minimum of 3 months prison time!
    and i guarantee you that just when everyone thought that it was done and forgotten, those cops would be killed 1 at a time, if they ever did anything like that to my wife.
    just ask yourself this....how many of you have been in combat and didnt think twice about killing an enemy soldier? ...therfore why would you think twice about killing some piece of poop who did something like this to your wife who you love very much?
    they would not know what hit them!


    and as an aside to this, if cops are doing things like this, how many of you still doubt that if guns are banned there the cops wont take them from you by force?....they would enjoy shooting you down and your family too if they were given the excuse!

    I have to wonder WTH this department is thinking having males in the room for a female strip search.

    IF they had a valid real reason to arrest her, and she was going to be held because she could/woould not post bond, THEN she should be strip searched before going into the jail, and that sometimes has to be done by force when people are combative. BUT ONLY with female jail gaurds in the room. It blows my mind that any jail is stupid enough to use male guards to strip search a female detainee.

    That video really depressed me...very sad...hard to watch.

    That can happen to anyone of us OR our wifes, girlfriends, or daughters. These cops showed absolutely no compassion at all, just like the Nazi concentration camp guards.

    I don't think they are cops now, I was under the impression they were all deputy corections officers, not deputy sheriff patrol officers.

    I'll wait until I hear the Sheriff's or the Sheriff's on scene (jail) supervisor's version of the story before I form an opinion.

    Just from the Channel 3 version it doesn't look good, but her smart-assed answer to the question about weapons and suicide is an indicator that there is more to the story.

    It's not hard at all for me to imagine that the first officer showed up on the scene and met a highly emotional woman who, intentionally or not, gave him bogus identification and wanted to talk about everything except the questions he needed answers to. That could lead to disorderly conduct which could lead to arrest. If she resisted arrest that could lead to the jail. At the jail when asked if she had any weapons or sharp objects and have you ever thought of harming yourself, she replied "Now or ever?" "Now or ever" is not a negative reply which can lead to a strip search.

    Once a strip search is determined to be necessary, there are two ways to do it. The easy way and the hard way. There is no "I don't want to do it" option. It could be she chose the hard way.

    I'm sure we will eventually find out. Too many people there for it to stay under cover.

    I can tell you why the male officers have short hair: When you work in a jail you are exposed to Lice and Crabs, from the crooks, on a daily basis.

    I have worked in a jail where the Male/Female sides of the jail were connected at the receiving (where prisoners first come in). And I have responded to several calls for help on the female side of the jail because a female inmate was combative. What the video does not show is what happened leading up to woman being put into the "Safety Cell" (AKA Rubber Room). When you put up enough resistance to the booking process to be placed in the "Safety Cell" you are quite the A.H. Yelling and screaming are par for the course.

    I'll bet she was arrested for an alcohol related charge. I don't see anything in the video that the officers are doing wrong. When you are arrested and booked into jail EVERYONE is strip searched.

    Flame Away. Most around here don't get out much. But this is what happens to drunks in jails that don't go along with the program.

    your rules don,t make that treatment right. what happened to innocent until proven guilty. i hope bondai was not treated this way or i can see where his hatred formed
