What was the WORST gun you ever own?
...Actually I can think of two! 1967 I purchased my first new 22LR with two of my paychecks working as a busboy at Ellington AFB. It was a Winchester 190! Paid $59 for it and sold it for $25 3 yr.s later. What a sinker!!
Next was an Erma 22LR "Luger" ...got it at K-mart in 68, paid $59 for it ...it worked for 2 weeks and the firing pin broke. I took it back and picked up the other one they had and again 2 weeks later the firing pin broke again. Took it back again, but they didn't have any more "Lugers" and the only thing that caught my eye was a Colt single action buntline scout in 22LR for $69. So I coughed up the other $10 buck and never looked back. I sold that weapon in 1985 for $325!
Interesting note: In 1989 I was working with a "gun nut" and we were talking about Lugers ...and how expensive they were but would be nice to have a shooter. I then told him about my Erma Luger and instantly he wanted one! You'd think your "gun nut" friend would have learned from your experience. So much for Erma firing pins. I'll bet he paid a bit more than 59 bucks 21 yrs later.
I bought an H&R Sportsman model 999 years ago because I liked the break top action and 9 shots, but it has a horrible trigger pull.0 -

Jennings 9mm. I know ya get what you pay for but I was a poor college kid then. That gun would jam every other round even with FMJ's. Took it back and had the feed ramp polished--still jammed--traded it for a Taurus M94 .22 and stayed away from those zinc framed guns ever since lol. 0 -
Franchi I-12 must have got the lemon has spent more time at factory repair shop then in my safe different problem every time I only have about 500 rds thru it so far 0 -

Really? i own one and it is a brush gun, did you know that? im very accurate at 75 to 100 yrds and could hit a small animal at 175 i think...could be the shooter not the gun0 -

with a scope in a vise it shot 3" + groups. brush gun or not still patterned like a shotgun0 -

H&R semiauto in .308 that gave maybe 6" horizontal dispersion at 50 yards. It scattered shots so far left and right I thought the reticle had jiggled loose in the scope. Switched scopes, got the same result. Also with iron sights. Rebedding didn't help. 0 -

That's surprising. My Buckmark is eeriely accurate, on par with my Colt woodsman MT.

Rifle: a Western Field 30-30 that jammed on every shot.
Handgun: A fixed sight Springfield Armory 1911 WWII edition that shot about 3 feet left at 50 feet.
Shotgun: Mossberg 500 20 gauge that jammed more times then I can count.
I sadly do have a Hi-Point 40.... and it is actually not only very reliable but also very accurate. Well worth the 120 I paid for it.0 -
Semi-auto Thompson. Might have been useful as a boat oar. Was like a cranky toddler, refused to feed and crapped all the time.
(un)honorable mention - Ruger P89. Guns that do not go "boom" every time the trigger is pulled are bad.0 -
Ruger P90. One of the first ones,I got it in '88. poor is being nice, it was like the bbl would never seat in the same place 2 times in a row. 1 shot here and then one shot over there. Traded it in on a Blackhawk. still have that gun and loving it. 0 -

Remington semi auto in 30-06.
Firing pin broke. Took the gunsmith 3 months to fix it.
The was the only gunsmith in my town. In fairness, I figured out he wasn't the greatest gunsmith.
Next year the Remington jammed on me on a deer hunt. Sold it and got a Mauser, problem solved.0 -

I have owned guns that others might consider junk -- a 1964 Model 70 Winchester, for instance. You know, the one that Winchester fans had a fit about, causing the prices of pre-'64s to skyrocket.... But mine was a .30-06 that didn't care what ammo you fed it -- it put everything you gave it inside an inch at 100 yards. I've had a number of rifles that the shooting fraternity holds in higher esteem, even some that shot as well -- but none that shot better. Ever.
I can't say I've ever owned a gun that I, personally, would call a bad gun. I've always been fortunate in that, if I couldn't afford a new gun, I was generally able to find something of good quality used. My preferences in guns are also such that the odds of ending up with, say, an unreliable semi-auto of some sort are slim to none -- I prefer revolvers when it comes to handguns, bolt actions or single-shots in rifles.0 -

...Franchi 48AL, was a POS new, probably the lightest shotgun I ever owned...so you could carry the no-shootin' POS all day and not get tired.
...Ruger 10/22, was a POS new...but from my experience all the newer 10/22's are POS. Drop $400-$600 into it after you spent almost $200 on it to begin with...replace EVERYTHING...then for $600-$800 you have a nice .22.
...only ones that come to mind...[;)]
