No more testicles on your trailer hitch!
It's one thing to dangle fuzzy dice from a rear view mirror, but decorating a trailer hitch with a large pair of rubber testicles might be a bit much in Virginia.
State Del. Lionel Spruill introduced a bill Tuesday to ban displaying replicas of human genitalia on vehicles, calling it a safety issue because it could distract other drivers.
Under his measure, displaying the ornamentation on a motor vehicle would be a misdemeanor punishable by a maximum fine of $250.
He said the idea came from a constituent whose young daughter spotted an example of the trail hitch adornment and asked her father to explain it.
"'I didn't know what to tell her,'" Spruill said the constituent told him before Spruill vowed to stop such displays.
"I said, 'Sir, I'm going to be a laughingstock, but I'm going to do it,'" he said.
The Virginia General Assembly has some experience with offbeat bills. Three years ago, it drew widespread attention with an unsuccessful effort to outlaw baggy pants worn so low they expose underwear.
Spruill, 61, said the indignity of the "droopy drawers" debate wouldn't deter him. He said he won't hesitate to bring a set of $24.95 trailer testicles with him for a legislative show-and-tell.
"I'm going to do it," Spruill told a handful of reporters after Tuesday's House session adjourned. "I'm going to bring them out here and show them to you till they tell me to stop."
Wonder where I can hang 'em now??[:D]

In Illinois it's legal to hang the sack on the hitch, but illegal to hang the dice on your rearview mirror, go figure........ 0 -
I wonder why most of them are always blue?
DSM0 -
no wonder they bombed us.

Oh....I don't know....How about telling her the truth. I don't know why parents feel the need to hide the human form. Besides that, I always thought those were supposed to be bull testicles!0 -
Oh geez...the RUBBER bull balls are a distraction? But talking/texting on the cell phone is overlooked even though it is illegal...think that is more distracting.
Dice hanging from the mirror could be considered a hazard as it can block the drivers view of certain traffic areas...bull balls on the hitch or spare tire dont interfere with anything.
What is next then? Privacy fences around ranches because some young kid may see a horse or bull that is a bit excited and things are "hanging out"????0 -
taxpayers money hard at work 0 -

Dear God, I hope he's not talking about his own.0 -
So how many accident reports does their state have on file where "Distracted By testicles" is listed as a contributing factor? 0 -
What a joke. How is that any more distracting than vinyl decals? Better start debadging your vehicles. Those Ford and Dodge logos might catch someone's interest. No more chrome either. Too shiny and us Americans as smart as we are are always attracted to shiny things.
I have a set of huge nuts on the back of my truck. Actual hardware that I got at Lowes. The biggest I could find. I have them hanging around a chain on the hitch. Same idea just more unique.0 -
Damn, those are supposed to be "Human"?
I feel so inadequate now.0 -
Well if this becomes law then they should do away with bumper sticker. I have seen people take time to read them and not watch what they were doing while driving. 0 -
I once worked with a real jerk. I hung the remains of the new shovel handle and 2 big nuts from the spare tire carrier on his truck. He thought all the people in Idaho were nice because all the folks that passed him on the road were [:)] 0 -
I wonder if this applies to spinning antenna strippers? I hope not.

Those "decorations" are disgusting, and no one with any sort of class would have them hanging from his vehicle, IMNSHO. 0 -

I don't look at them that way. I certainly don't think they represent those of a human or anything else. I think most guys just put them on their trucks to say their truck "has balls", so to speak. Meaning it's putting a nice set of numbers to the ground. That's why I have them anyway.0 -

Exactly. Anyone that would do something like that probably wishes they had a set of their own.0 -

Since MT seconded, I'll give a third. These trucks need a brain for a hood ornament, after all, it's obvious the truck is making up for what the occupant lacks.0 -

Well, after they outlaw balls, only outlaws will have balls. There's a new bumper sticker for those folks in Virginny!
Seriously [:o)], wait until they outlaw the truck balls, then find the largest rubber BallPark Frank you can find on the Internet and hang that on your truck!!!
Someone else earlier alluded to this, but when horses are bred on ours and a friend's ranch, the kids and everyone else are usually hanging around as per normal, BSing and running around. No one pays any attention to it. Kids on a farm or ranch don't check out the cabbage patch, look under rocks or keep their eyes peeled for a large bird carrying a bundle in its beak when their parents tell them they are going to have a baby brother or sister soon.
EDIT: Geez, can you believe the software edited out the actual anatomical term for dick, choosing instead to refer to it as an edible item? Good grief!0 -
Nunn, I tend to agree but I sure wish I had been the one to figure out how to get a pile of people to send me $20 or so for a few ounces of molded plastic or rubber. That guy is laughing all the way to the bank. 0 -

thats because he doesn't have any
and that statement explains why this is truly happening it has absolutely nothing to do with distracting a driver, but a personal inability to be a father0 -
sounds like another stupid law 0 -
WE NEED FEDERAL LEGISLATION TO PROTECT US!!!!!!!! 0 -
I want bush balls for my truck 0 -

As I understand it, several dozen, you see, one testicle was lower than the other and dragging on the pavement, thereby causing many male motorists to involuntarily cringe, close their eyes and swerve. Some vomited violently. Even the LEO that finally stopped the vehicle had to go on administative leave, he was so shook up.0 -

You may think they are disgusting and you are certainly entitled to your opinion, which is shared by many...
but...
Do you think there should be a law against displaying them?
This is America! We supposedly have freedom of speech!
and...
Isn't there a difference between disgusting and obsene? How could they argue that a replica of bovine anatomy is obsene?0 -

Come on David. Admit it. Most owners of pick-up trucks, don't give a darn about showing "class". [8D]0 -
I own a pickup truck, and it has class. I wouldn't consider messing with its suspension or putting huge wheels on it, or a loud exhaust, but I keep it clean and maintained. The bed has a Bedrug and a topper, and I keep gear in there. I have jumper cables, fishing tackle, solar radio, power inverter, cold weather clothing, extra boots, range gear, etc.
There were a couple of times, when the ex was still here, that I got in my truck, drove away, and then parked and slept in a sleeping bag in the back, just to have some peace.0 -

Seems you are the exception to the rule. [;)]
Unlike most Texans, we know you would never say something like "Jesus palimena! Come're n lookit this afore I flush it!"[:D]0 -
