The historical part I was refering to was not the same as the biblical part of my post.
American indians for one example did not kill for the meat alone.
The necessaties of eating meat does not even mean people need to hunt in this modern world either.
Hunting for meat and furs are both over and above necessaty.0 -

i hunted and trapped red and grey fox when their hides brought good money. but when the bottom dropped out on high prices, i quit. i just never could get started up again, reds are harder to get than greys and will give you a good challenge to your skills. i still have a high regard for them. eastbank. 0 -

I'm in the don't shoot em group. Even though I'm not in the "Bible-Thumper" group, I do have respect for all animals. If they don't present a danger, I leave alone. Guess I'm just a mellow old fart anymore.[:I] 0 -
We have a couple of foxes here at the farm,
I love seeing them.
I would be VERY irate if someone tried to kill one!
They do no harm to humans.

In the early 80's Dad, Uncle and I were replacing a fence and watched a fox casually walk by. I think he was upwind from us. Another time we were planting in the same back field and had a coyote that would walk the field back and forth next to the planter. He was hoping we would scare up a mouse or rabbit. The neighbor had the same coyote follow him around the field to.
I've also seen a hawk go back and forth from one end of the field to the other going from electric pole to pole.0 -
