Are you brand oriented?
I know that I am, but to a point usually price.
I am oriented towards
Chevy for trucks.
Dell for computers.
Sony for audio gear.
Infinity for speakers.
Ruger for guns.
Mercury for outboards.
Bombardier for ATV's
Honda for small engines.
I guess the only place I am not brand oriented is at the grocery store. I will usually go with store brand to save some money.

I won't buy brands that sell low quality goods or have a reputation for doing so.

Cars - Hyundi or Kia
Guns - Hi Point, Lorcin, Etc.
Computers - e-machines
Audio - Piramid, etc.
Soda - store brands

I used to love Buck knifes but the last one I bought was made in China. I started looking at other buck knifes and some are made in china some in Indonesia and very few in the USA. I will never buy another Buck knife again. 0 -
I have this major predjudice againt remington firearms,don't ask me to explain it cause I cant. They just dont feel right to me. Aside from that I'm not really brand sensitive 0 -

I had Goodyear Integrity tires on my car and they were CRAP(no traction when stopping, but excellent gas mileage) and they were cheap. I shopped around and investigated and found the best were Goodyear Tripletreads and they are expensive but are very good.
Tire companies make bad tires which go on new cars and make good tires to replace them.0 -
If you want good tires get Cooper's. I've had them on my jeeps for decades. Mud, snow, dry, hi-speed highway...always excellent results. 0 -

I will not buy anything from sears anymore.I purchased all new appliances from them 8 years ago,washing machine,dryer,dishwasher and fridge freezer all of them packed up about a year ago.My 14 cu ft chest freezer I purchased about 7 years ago stopped working last week while I was away lost at least $250 worth of food.No more sears for me.Got the wife a dell laptop last chistmas whilst it is a pretty good no where near as good backup as my sons Toshiba.I only buy American made vehicles and try to buy American only when I can.Not always possible of course.I purchased my Cisnet computer 18 months ago because it said on the box American made,yea right untill I opened the box and found half of it was made in china. 0 -

Polaris atv's
Ruger guns(actually don't really mind most gun companies though)
Burris scopes
I think that some of it, like the vehicles and atv's for example, is more towards that I am familiar with them brands so it makes it easier to work on them then. As far as other things like food and stuff, I usually buy the cheapest or whatever tastes better to me.

The problem with being brand oriented, is if the competition comes out with a new idea your brand maybe a few years before it's incorporated in their design.
I like Chevy trucks always have, since I grew up in a Ford family and had a Dodge granpa. It was my way of being different. But I drive a Dodge. Because I wanted a Diesel and at the time Chevy hasn't worked all the bugs out of their Diesels.
So I guess I'm not really brand oriented. I will race or ride nothing but Trek bikes. But that has to do with sponsorships and not brand loyality.0 -

It might seem like a contradiction but I consider myself a very discriminating consumer but I have very little brand loyalty. The only exception I can think off off the top of my head is boots. About 12 years ago I bought a pair of Whites boots. I'll never buy another brand. 0 -

The tires are average, no better or worse than Firestone or BFG, I just hate the company.
Michelin makes the best tires, even Goodyear executives will admit that.0 -
I had a new Dodge fullsized 3/4 van. It had OEM Michilins on it.
13 flats in 12 months.
Put Goodyears on it and never a flat in over 100,000 miles - 2 complete sets of tires. Driving the same places.
Never a Michelin again.

I have zero sponserships, so that is a big NO on brand loyalty. Now there are lots of brands I like, but when there are better products offered by their competitors, I will certainly buy another brand. What is to be gained by buying a lesser product because of the name brand? I guess the key is to knowing what is the better product. As often as brand names are bought & sold anymore, it is interesting who actually makes what.
I'm sure all of the brands listed appreciate (& count on) your business though.......0 -

I'm running my second set of BFG ATKO's on my Suburban. 70,000 miles out of the first set. Came with Michelin's. Wore them out in one year. 0 -

I love my BFG ATKO's. I don't get 70000 miles out of a set, but I have never been accused of being easy on equipment.0
