Are you brand oriented?
I know that I am, but to a point usually price.
I am oriented towards
Chevy for trucks.
Dell for computers.
Sony for audio gear.
Infinity for speakers.
Ruger for guns.
Mercury for outboards.
Bombardier for ATV's
Honda for small engines.
I guess the only place I am not brand oriented is at the grocery store. I will usually go with store brand to save some money.

I won't buy:
Cars - Hyundi or Kia

Wow, I have had a very different experience. I have found Michelins to be a superior tire.
I have noticed that occasionally, people have wildly different experiences with the same products. I don't understand it.
When I got the van, everyone told me how lucky I was to get the Michelins on it, but it didn't work out that way.
Maybe I should ask aramisvi about it ??

I have 3 kids.
I can't afford to be "label conscious," and I don't find that a good, well-known brand name necessarilly guarentees quality, especially with as much out-sourcing of labor that is going on.
That's the kids gig, being brand oriented. They will outgrow the trend eventually, especially when they have to pay for their own clothes, like the rest of their peers.
I generally buy it if I like it, even if it is a cheaper brand. I just don't expect as good of quality.
Two things I will not "go cheap" on, outerwear and footwear.0 -

Yokahama makes an excellent tire! As does pirelli, we had pirellis on our jag, they were awesome. If your looking for an awesome tire at an affordable price, check out the Fuzion ZRi. about 100 bucks a tire, tread is awesome! I used to be able to get a little sideways on my old bridgestones, but with these new Fuzions, they grip toooo damn good!0 -

Well considering i am GB's local appliance Tech, Appliances are about the only thing i am brand oriented on.
Whirlpool, Kitchenaid, Amana(Anything newer than 07), Estate, Roper, Jen-air(Anything newer than 07), Maytag(Anthing Newer than 07)
These are all great brands considering they are all built by Whirlpool and are all mechanicaly identical.
Very low maintnance, Good average life expectancy, VERY easy to work on.
GE, Frigidaire, Bosch, Asco
ALL JUNK!!! Terrible life spans, Over priced parts, EXTREMELY HARD TO WORK ON!!!

Its good stuff, But there is a reason its good
LG stole and coppied almost all of whirlpools mechanical designs to build thier products. This, Ofcourse, breaks many many rules.
Whirlpool is currently suing LG, but the damage has already been done[V]..... For this reason i do not buy or recomend LG.
Kenmore
Since the dawn of kenmore, they have never actualy had thier own machine.... They farm it all out to whoever can build it the cheapest for them.... Normaly its GE or Frigidaire... Whirlpool makes some, but very little.
Because of this i have to give it a JUNK rating, because a customer will not know what he/she is buying and has a very high chance of ending up with a machine built by GE or Frigidaire[xx(]
There are many many more brands out there, But i am stopping the list here because the are the most popular ones out there.0 -

we try to buy almost all of our stuff american made. all of the younger kids toys are american made or they dont use them. pisses alot of the family members off because its makes it harder for them to buy the presents but i have and will return toys that are not made in american of the one year old. the older boy not so importent but i still complain about it. i just wish there were more american made electronics. 0 -

I can buy chevy instead of kia. Even though many chevy parts are foriegn there's still more domestic parts on a chevy than a kia.
I can buy S&W insted of Taurus. I can buy winchester or remington ammo instead of wolf or bear.

It's tough trying to buy american.
Do we know if all our gun parts from the differnt manufacturers are made in america? I think so but I'm not sure?
