    All LEO should be able to protect themselves and use whatever allows them to do that. That said, we the people should also have the exact same right to the "T" and anything banned to the public should be banned by LEO.
    When LEOs state they need something more powerful to protect against armed criminals or gangs my reply is, so do we the people or do you feel LEO are more important than we the people?

    In my county, Brevard, central Florida, space coast nearly every town has a swat team some with 50 cal BMGs and armored cars.
    IMO, the Sheriff should have the only swat team with their helicopters as that seems reasonable.
    When I see dozens of military clad mean storming a house for one punk I have to wonder how far we are getting towards a police state.

    How about a constitutional amendment that guarantees the right of the people to be armed???
    That would be nice.
    I mean, a real one that means it.

    Why should we defend ourselves? I goes with the job that others will call us names. We just ignore it.

    LEOs also have something you are not allowed to posess: Flashbangs.

    As I have posted before, when we live in a perfect world, cops will carry wild-flowers and roses, until then, we use what we have to. When the bloods and crips join hands and sing "We are the world" and quit gunning down innocent children and cops with full-auto AK's and M4's, then talk to me about restricting what LEO's can carry. You, the average person, doesn't have to face these types of people every day. But, if you do, then by all means, deal with them with extreme prejudice. Maybe YOU can do better with 30 rounds of 7.62x39 whizzing past your head.[;)]
