Let's Use The Correct Terminology
Sometimes, we gun owners hurt our own cause by adopting the language of the liberals, gun grabbers, and the liberal media.
An "assault rifle" is a carbine-length long arm, chambered for an intermediate power round, having a select-fire switch so that it can fire full-auto.
The M-16, M-4, and the real AK-47 are assault rifles. Any sort of semi-auto AR-15 or clone, or any sort of semi-auto AK are not.
The terms "assault shotgun" and "assault pistol" are even more ridiculous.
There is no such thing as a "high-capacity magazine." There are standard-capacity magazines, reduced-capacity magazines, and extended-capacity magazines. Even the language of the infamous 1994 Crime Bill did not use the term "high-capacity magazine." It called them "large-capacity ammunition feeding devices."
For example, the Glock 17, with a standard magazine, the one for which it was originally designed, holds 17 rounds. Also available, for the Commie states, are reduced-capacity 10 round magazines, as well as extended magazines holding 19 and 33 rounds.
If it is the magazine originally designed to go with that weapon, it is a standard capacity magazine. If it hangs out the butt in order to hold more, it is an extended or extra capacity magazine. And, if it has a block in it to reduce the capacity to satisfy some politician's agenda, it is a reduced capacity magazine.

You just made my "Winchester 1300 DEFENDER" shotgun a assult weapon, as well as my Ruger P89DC 9mm.

case in point...you dont put a battering ram in the back of a truck....it goes up front. its designed to assault.

And they are almost always capable of firing more than one round for one trigger pull. In regards to semiautomatica being more dangerous than other firearms, or deserving the name of "assault weapons" does anyone here care if they are being shot with a 10 shot revolver (S&W .22) or a 10 shot semi-auto?
It is not the type of action that can even remotely be called the problem. If there was an argument to be made about one type of action vs another, the argument should focus on the large capacity magazines. Magazines that hold 30-50 rounds, for example. But even at that, if gun laws actually do stop gun crime (i.e. the reason for a bann on "assault weapons") then why not make it easy on everyone and just pass yet another gun laws making it really, really, really illegal to commit a crime with either/or a semi-auto firearm and/or while using a large capacity magazine?
My point I am trying to make is that it makes about as much sense to ban only certain types of firearms to stop firearm violence as it does to ban cars with spoilers on the trunk in an effort to stop people from speeding. It is not the hardware/equipment, it is the behavior of the people using that equipment. So only pass laws against their behavior and leave lawful, peaceful gun owners alone.

Not wishing to urinate anyone off, but the word that was changed here to "meanieized" (not sure that is a word) means corrupt, debase,etc. Is this just a word that is automatically zapped or does someone have a problem with the English language. Do you need a proofreader? I can count a few dozen errors on any page.0
