ever think about suicide?
and no i'm not
a gal i work with decided to eat a bullet leaving behind a husband{i also work with}, and kids, i had a long talk with her a few weeks ago, and it was very obvious she was headed for a nervous breakdown due to job related stress, and being stuck financially in a job not appropriate for her
anyway this is about the 10th person i have known in my life that decided this is a good decision, and i have been in some ruff times but i just don't think i could ever take this action, last one was a friends wife, she used a 12 gauge, and another close friend of mine cleaned it up
i just can't see it

That is so sad.
Just knowing 10 people who have done this must be a heavy load for you. I've known 2. A high school classmate and my mother's best friend. No one understands why. Everyone talks about what a selfish act it is and how it is the easy way out etc... I can't even imagine the hardship that brings that kind of desperation. So sad...0 -

I myself would never look at suicide as a good decision... but rather an escape from reality. And no I have not thought about suicide. I have to much to loose...like my family. 0 -

I have not ever seriously thought about it, but......
There was a time a few years ago that I was very upset over a girl (of course). I was bad enough that I took anti depressants for about 3 months. Everything else in my life was good and I am a strong person but this one even was VERY overwhelming.
I NEVER actually thought about hurting myself, but I was in a place where I could very easily and way to clearly see how someone could/would want to. It is not a fun place to visit [V]
It is hard to look into a situation that you have no real (first hand) experience in and TRUELY understand. I had been a Paramedic for several years and delt with many people with anxiety and depression. I have a way better feel for what some of them are going through now then I ever did before that point.0 -

I just couldn't live with myself knowing I had just killed myself.

I've been through what I thought was excruciating emotional pain, but always had confidence that this too shall end. I have always been a survivor, death was never even a thought. I have known a couple of people that did end their life. I can't imagine what they were thinking or feeling. 0 -
Had a girl friend, a part time lover, throw herself off the Huey P. Long bridge into the Mississippi River about 15 years ago and it is a sad thing to deal with.
Makes me worry about my kids.

He stuck it out until his wife died of brain cancer
then he stuck the barrel of a 22 pistol in his eye hole and... [V]

Think about people that attempt suicide and fail............ how much worse can can you do [8]

I have known too many who chose that path. Actually heard and discovered my uncle next door. Still do not like to watch the Super Bowl 27 years later.0 -
Suicide is a easy way out of life's little problems. How could any problem be so bad that you would have to kill yourself. I just don't get it. To me people who kill themselves are only thinking about themselves and their petty little problems. They are to self centered to think about all the family and people around them that has to live with the sorrow of losing a loved one. I have no sympathy for someone who commits suicide. 0 -

Never considered it because I've been blessed with good parents and a great wife and daughter. Alway's have enjoyed good health and have made good career choices. It's hard to judge other peoples choices when they feel they have no other way out. 0 -

I can understand terminally ill patients, suffering and in pain, watching the family pay dearly the financial burden wanting to end it. I believe in physician assisted suicide in those cases...0 -

Every time I see a new story about OJ Simpson, I think, "Why doesn't that dumb-ass just kill himself?"0 -
I've had some extremely low lows where I didn't care if I lived or died when I was a teenager and had no place to live and to young to rent my own place or start working fulltime. Even then though I never entertained the idea of offing myself.
My mom used to talk about suck starting my dads .357 Python. Man I would of been pissed. That is way to nice of a gun to be taken by the police.

I have had a brother and my father kill themselves. You have no idea the pain and always wondering "What could I have done?". As a LEO I had to take reports and remove the remains 40-50 times. Actually saved one once that hanged himself. CPR brought him back and after weeks in the hospital (and alot of Lasix) he was out, a little slow in math, but he changed his life and councilled others. After my first divorce I thought about it but came to the conclusion "THE BITCH AIN'T WORTH IT"!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've known one, more closely his parents...Horrible!
I've found out the hard way, that someone trying to take your life, can really make you appreciate and fight for life.
I always try to go by the "It's A Wonderful Life" theory.
To that end, somewhere out there is a mom and two kids(maybe grandkids now) who are glad a stranger going down the road noticed a burning house, some 25 years ago.
I also think everyone has a purpose in life.
Even if its just to serve as a an example of what NOT to do....[:D]0 -
the man next to my uncle, he was an air traffic controler for yrs.
after he retired, he had a wife and son, he bit a bullet.

But me...naa, it's not worth letting the "idiots" in live upset me.
