Decent motorcycle ideas?

Thinking about an old Harley, or one of those Shadows like cubs has..

I want a motorcycle so I can drive to school on just a permit..

Doesnt matter how many CC.. would like around 600 (dad says that would be good enough without being overpowered) as I will wait 'til im 16 so there isn't a law saying under 250cc


Ideas? Ill be looking around for a good 10 months, but still

  I started on a 80CC moped when I was 12. At thirteen I was riding a 76 Susuki GS550S. Ever dream of doing 100MPH on a dirt road? I didn't have to. I was plenty nuts at your age. Nothing scared me then, nor does it now.
  
  That is not sensable advice for you, granted. Just follow Mom and Dad's rules about owning/riding (I never had rules, Mom was pretty Lax with me). Buy what you like, and learn your abilities (NO, that doesn't mean try to kill yourself). If your not the type that likes power/speed, then don't buy a bike that will do that.
  
  Whatever you buy, just be careful. I am not a good example of how to right. I have just been lucky at never crashing a bike/quad. Cars, are a different story. I have had numerious wrecks and never been seriously hurt. My first car (76 Duster) got wrapped around a tree doing 90 MPH.
