Contribute the minimal reasonable amount of money that you can spare to his campaign effort. If he asks for your time or endorsement, you can say that your belief is that family and politics don't mix and you respectfully decline to participate beyond your monetary contribution. Telling him what you think of him personally is to be avoided as that is what is likely to cause problems with other family members. Wow, I don't envy your dilemma, and I really don't have any advice, other than to say you need to make a decision that you can live with.
To resond to the original question, and to most of the responses to that, I say pish-posh.
You mean to tell me none of you ever in your adult life:
-Told a lie to extract yourself from an uncomfortable situation or for some profit?
-Conversely, omitted to provide information to the same ends?
-Did something dishonest when you knew you could get away with it?
-Over/under-exagerated to suit your point?
-Broke a law that you felt was unjust?
To ask a person whether they are honest, especially in a nameless, faceless Internet forum, and to expect them to respond in any other manner than "yessiree, honest as the day is long" is sort of pointless.0 -

The answer is simple...
You have to sleep at night. Those little voices can get awfully loud if you mess up.
Perhaps... "I can't support you in good faith" will work. You may also add that you're not judging, nor will you make your feelings public.
If he asks, then truthfully give your reasons. Do it as kindly as possible. Make sure he knows that your refusal bears no malice.0 -

I think you misunderstood the original question. He didn't ask who here is perfect or never does anything wrong. He asked who has a conscience, and feels remorse after doing the things on your list.
Anybody who never feels remorse for anything is a psychopath. The law of averages and simple logic tells me there are probably a few psychopaths on the board, but I believe it is very few. I would like to think none.0 -

I do and I pay attention to how those I associate with conduct themselves.
Case in point, recently I purchased two cases of shotgun shells (20 boxes) and the checker range them up as two items for a total of $8.66 cents. I corrected her mistake and told her the price should have been about 10 times that amount. She then rang up the other 18 boxes of shells and I paid the correct amount. A fellow that I know was watching this transaction and he said he would have paid the first amount and left. His feeling was that her mistake wasn't his problem. He didn't like it when I pointed out that I wasn't willing to compromise my reputation by stealing 18 boxes of shotgun shells.
He seemed baffled by the concept and the influence of conscience on my life. I will be keeping an eye on him in our future dealings for sure.0 -

tomahawk, I think he was being sarcastic and maybe an attempt at humor. He is mistaken though. a conscience is not derived from religion. Most people who claim no religion at all have a conscience. The absence of a conscience is a whole different quandary. 0 -
