Should we build a giant wall on this place that used to be a border?

  How about this instead of a wall:
  
  1. Double fence; 1st one 12 foot with concertina wire, 20 foot gap, 2nd fence 12 foot with concertina wire
  
  2. Watch towers every mile, manned 24/7
  
  3. Manning accomplished by AD military for a 120 day rotation (beats 120 days in Iraq) and by the Guard. Border Patrol can augment as a QRF to roll in and arrest/detain those coming across.
  
  4. Personnel armed with NOG devices and .308s. Authorized to place a warning shot beside the illegal trying to gain entry.
  
  The military working the posts could be housed in nearby towns in hotels when possible (economic boost to the town) or we could create small military camps alond the fence line...say one every 50 miles...that could serve the towers 25 miles on each side of it.
  
  I think this might just work...and sleeping in trailers like are in Iraq and Afghanistan are not that bad. They sure beat the Barney and TEMPER tents I have called home many times.
