Sad day for gunowners....
With 90 million gunowners (as of the LAST potus election) we could and SHOULD, OWN the election process in America.
Last night, it became obvious, that we WANT our guns taken from us. We did not get out and OWN the process and the 2 worst of the group, the two who will condone infringements and, and if not outright, lay the path for confiscation, enjoyed enormous success!
We should all be very very ashamed.[V]

I will say the same thing for those trying to destroy the NRA.
There is power in numbers and it pleases the gun grabbers to high heavens when gun owners divide and splinter into little groups.
Every gun owner should be a member of the NRA and then if they wan to be a memeber of these smaller groups that is all the more better.

I don't think anyone wants to destroy the NRA, but if they want to be the bastion of the second amendment they portray themselves to be, they need to stop with their compromising, and writing anti-gun bills for Sarah Brady.0 -

I fully realize you will never get 90 million people to fully agree on everything but al the same they need to stand together. Power in numbers.
I will not bad mouth the NRA or withdraw my membership even though I do not agree fully with everything they are.

approx 14 million dems voted last nite compared to approx 8 million republicans--it's a combination of apathy and just plain sheer numbers of the opposition. It is that way in CA--you have a sliver of the state with a HUGE population base that is more democrats-plain and simple-republicans don't stand a good chance there. WA is the same way. 0 -

a lot of this has to do with the "reeducation" of our country. The Dem party has been anti-gun for so many years (decades) that the younger voters that are now going to the polls have not had the POSITIVE exposure to firearms and have bought the lies that have been fed to them as they were growing up in their formative years.
Even those who are Dem or Repub and believe in the RTKBA, they live in states that are slowly eroding those rights (some not so slowly). This has an impact on the younger Repubs as well who do not have POSITIVE exposure to firearms growing up.
Call me paranoid...or a conspiracy nut...but think about what has happened in the last 15 years or so.
- We have turned our schools into "gun free zones". In my day we had Hunter Safety courses at school, rifle teams, skeet shooting teams and we even had our rifles in our cars/trucks or at the priniciples office so we could hunt after school.
- The MSM has taken the anti-gun cause on as their own for the most part. You NEVER hear about a gun owner stopping crime with a firearm, but you ALWAYS hear about the criminal using a firearm to kill or maim.
- States/cities have been allowed to sue gun manufacturers for a criminal using their product to commit a crime. How then does a vehicle manufacturer not get sued when the criminal used one of their cars in the commission of a crime, or clothing company when the criminal uses a ski mask in the commission of a crime.
BTW: I sent my absentee ballot in since I am stationed in Texas. Thompson was off the ticket, so Paul got a checkmark from me and my wife. The Repubs have forgotten that their party is heavy with gun owners. [:(]0 -

ARE 2nd AMMENDMENT ISSUES THE SINGLE, MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE TO THESE 90 MILLION, TO THE POINT THAT THEY WILL PUT ASIDE ALL OTHER ISSUES IF NECESSARY TO JOIN FORCES?
Not so sure anymore, huh? Let me give an extreme example:
Let's say you have two cadidates for a particular office.
Candidate 1 is pro gun, Candidate 2 is not pro gun.
We should all vote for candidate 1, right?? Well, hold on a sec.
Candidate 1 supports same-sex marriage and open borders. Oops. Now it's not so black and white is it?
Just something to think about. Just because someone owns a firearm doesn't mean that they will always vote for 2nd ammendment issues and potentiall disregard or cast aside everything else they hold as important.0 -

Well my two sons aren't interested in firearms. I am thinning down my collection. Did belong to the local gun club who made it a requirement to be a member of the NRA to be a member. My NRA membership has expired and so is my membership of the club. 0 -
